Meet Jasmine King

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jasmine King. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Jasmine, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

Just simple by being myself,Never tried to or wanted to be like the next person.i do my best with ignoring criticism it’s honestly always funny to me especially if it’s negative cause it’s from people who don’t even know me.Just always stay positive.
Growing up i definitely struggled with loving my skin tone because I was dark skin it was always folks in middle or high that would pick on me because I was too dark. Now that I am an adult I embrace my skin color & love it. I also get compliments a lot something that is very new to me being that I was once that ugly duckling growing up.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I am an actress out of the state of Georgia I am originally from Florida. I moved out here to pursue my acting career & it has been going well for me.i done a few background roles with other projects like tyler perry, the hit tv show p-valley, & a few other films. Had a feature role on a movie that will be out on tubi soon called beauty in the struggle.Im also a model & a brand ambassador for it. & im a content creator for tik tik been doing content creation for some years & definitely enjoy it.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Never let or allow anyone to bring you down.Just smile in there face & continue to shine.i was involved with a guy who was very much not good for me mentally, & spiritually & all he ever did was bring me down rather it came to my weight or how I look & I often believed it.seeing where I am now & where he is not just shows me he was basically a hater.so as a woman I just feel like never allow a man to bring you down no matter how much you love him.im happy with where I am today cause I did it all by myself with the help of no one & that is an accomplishment.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?

I would have to say my mom. She has always been a positive impact on my life always pushing me to be better than who I am. & I always appreciate & be grateful for her.
