We were lucky to catch up with Jasmine Liora recently and have shared our conversation below.
Jasmine, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
My confidence and self-esteem really grew from getting hands-on experience and trusting myself. When I first started in the beauty industry, I was learning everything on the fly—techniques, client interactions, and how to present myself professionally. Every client I worked with, every look I perfected, and even the mistakes I made taught me something and reminded me that I could handle it.
I also put in the work on myself—mentally and emotionally. I learned to celebrate my wins, no matter how small, and to remind myself of my value when things felt uncertain. Confidence, for me, isn’t about never doubting yourself; it’s about showing up, owning your skills, and moving forward even when you’re unsure. Over time, that mindset became second nature, and it’s what fuels both my business and my everyday life.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’ve been passionate about beauty and helping people feel confident for as long as I can remember. What started as experimenting with makeup on myself turned into a full-fledged career where I get to empower others every day. I love that my work blends creativity with transformation, giving people a chance to express themselves and feel amazing in their own skin.
Right now, I’m focused on growing Alter Ego and creating a unique ‘baddie’ experience for my clients. From bridal and special event makeup to skincare and body waxing services, I love giving people ways to feel confident and empowered. I’m also working on new launches and collaborations that expand what my brand can offer. For me, Alter Ego isn’t just a business—it’s a space for creativity, boldness, and helping people step into their power.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The three things that got me here? Confidence, resilience, and creativity. Confidence to show up even when I’m unsure. Resilience to keep going when things fall apart. Creativity to make every look, every client, every project mine.
My advice for anyone starting out? Stop waiting for permission, embrace your mistakes, and do it your way. Show up, take risks, and lean into what makes you different. That’s how you actually grow, not by playing it safe or copying someone else.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
My ideal client is someone who walks in with a vibe and isn’t afraid to own it. They want to feel confident, stand out, and leave looking like the best version of themselves. They’re open to bold ideas, trust my expertise, and aren’t just looking for makeup—they’re looking for an experience that makes them feel unstoppable.
