We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jasmine Mcduffie. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jasmine below.
Hi Jasmine, thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.
Being a women of Faith, imposter syndrome is kind of a thing I can relate to but ultimately I know my creativity, talents, and abilities all come from God. It’s hard to independently see myself like I built this all by myself when there is absolutely a higher power working in and through me to do the things that seem impossible, or hard or even The simple things. So I solely rely on God when it comes to doing everything knowing that he will sustain me.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I recently became a new mom , a little over a year now and I have been adjusting to the stay at home mom life as well as starting a new business in content creation and social media marketing. I went from being a Teacher and college soccer coach to a SAHM and business women. I discovered UGC in the summer of 2023 and went full force November of 2023. Did my research, built my portfolio, landed many gifted collaborations until I landed my first paid collaboration in February of 2024. Ever since then I’ve been landing paid brand partnerships and collaborations every month and haven’t looked back. Since learning UGC I have been able to be a SAHM making money without having to be overly concerned about going back to work ,at a 9-5 , but being present for my children and eventually homeschooling them! I give all the Glory and gratitude to God because He is the one who has guided me through it all. I plan to expand my UGC business, social media marketing and creative strategies , so that I can create a higher flow of income , but ultimately trusting and relying on God , where I Go next and what he wants me to do. I’ve been working on a Christian apparel business as well , trying to grow that business from scratch . The instagram handle is @kaithos.co . Would love to receive some support and feedback there as well!
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Some of the qualities that played best to be most impactful on my journey is Consistency, patience, and boldness. As well as my love for creating content and creative talents I have been able to do since as early as 4 or 5 years old. I was that little girl holding her mom’s camcorder, recording everything, from dancing, singing, my life in a nutshell. I was always recording myself and loved the editing process. I never took it seriously until UGC . Knowing I can get paid but don’t have to have a huge following to get paid . When you have a God given talent , or even a hobby that you’re passionate about there is always a way. Do your research, stay consistent even if the results don’t come right away. Find ways to improve and be authentic, because people want to know you and Gods gifts are to be used for his glory so he won’t fail you. Ultimately trust that God will see you through the thing he is calling you to do!
Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
The person who has been the most helpful in overcoming my challenges , building skills and knowledge, other than God is my husband. He has definitely been a solid supporter and cheerleader. He doesn’t sugar coat anything but always makes sure that I am right on track, organized and educating myself. There is always something to be learned and always reminds me to trust in God . Keeping my priorities straight and knowing who I am as a person so I don’t get caught up in the chaos that can come with the unknowns of life.
