Meet Jasmine Parker

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jasmine Parker. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jasmine below.

Jasmine, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

Finding one’s purpose is often an intriguing journey. Many of us have BIG visions that drive us forward, while others may spend their entire lives searching for that elusive sense of meaning. Along this path, it is easy to become influenced by the expectations of others- be it society, mentors, family, or friends. I always knew I wanted to help people and I found myself adhering to the traditional path: graduating high school, going to college, and pursuing a career- an outline familiar to many.

In late 2020, while I was diligently climbing that career ladder, I faced a health crisis that left me unable to function for months. During that challenging time, fear became a very close friend. Questions flooded my mind: Would I be able to return to my career? The same? When? Was I going to lose everything I had worked so hard for?

An aggressive reminder that if you don’t have your health, what do you have?

The conventional methods of diagnosing and treating my health crisis were failing, and I felt lost. I didn’t know how to help myself; this was the only path I knew; this was all I had been taught. One day, a friend shared a story with me that led me down an alternate path of medicine called Functional Medicine. I had never heard of it before, but I was willing to explore any avenue that might restore my health and give me my life back.

This approach proved to be transformative, not just for my health but for my life’s direction. After I recovered, I became deeply committed to understanding Functional medicine and it’s practices. I was inspired by my own journey and motivated to help other women who were experiencing similar struggles, showing them that hope and remission are indeed possible.

Immersing myself in Functional Medicine, I simultaneously focused on taking better care of ME—developing better habits that empowered me and would prevent me from returning to a place of helplessness. This holistic healing process allowed me to heal not only my body and mind but also my soul and rediscover who I was.

I have come to understand that purpose is not a fixed destination but a dynamic journey shaped by our experiences, lessons learned, and personal growth along the way.

So I ask myself continuously, “What lights you up in life? What brings you profound joy, fun, and excitement?” and I choose to trust myself, follow my intuition, lead with creativity, follow the excitement, trust the process, and take everything else with a grain of salt.

That is what has led me to find my purpose ( and continues to lead me to find my purpose), as a Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach, Registered Nurse, Amazon #1 Best Selling Author, Hashimoto’s educator, and Founder of Love, Your Thyroid™.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I’m Jasmine, a registered nurse, functional medicine certified health coach, and the Amazon #1 best-selling author of Hidden Healing. Additionally, I educate women about Hashimoto’s disease and am the founder of Love, Your Thyroid™, a brand dedicated to supporting women suffering with Hashimoto’s.

My business is deeply personal and rooted in my own health struggles, which transformed the trajectory of my life and career. Despite my medical training, I found myself on a frustrating cycle of doctor visits and prescription medications, yet I remained without answers, feeling failed by the system. It was a challenging realization that pushed me to seek alternative solutions.

It was a conversation with a friend, who shared her story of a similar struggle, that put me on the path of Functional Medicine, something I knew absolutely nothing about. Her experience gave me hope and inspired me to take action, ultimately saving me. Having experienced the life-changing power of stories led me to write Hidden Healing: A Nurse’s Path To Overcoming Hashimoto’s and How You Can Too, and share my personal and painful story. I aimed to highlight the paths available for women facing similar challenges, show them they are not alone, and empower them to take control of their health and thrive.

My unique perspective is shaped by my experiences in both traditional medicine and functional medicine, allowing me to identify and understand the gaps in autoimmune thyroid care from both a patient’s and provider’s standpoint. This ignited a passion to help bridge those gaps, which led to the founding of Love, Your Thyroid™.

As a lifelong learner, I am committed to promoting better care for those impacted by autoimmune thyroid conditions. I strive to create a supportive community for women, offering a safe space for sharing experiences and encouraging one another on our journeys. My mission is to provide the education, resources, and tools necessary to get on the road to remission– resources that I wish I had when I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Returning to basics and building a solid, supportive foundation has been crucial to my journey. While it is easy to say we should establish a morning or night routine, stay active, eat healthy, drink enough water, and manage stress, actually implementing these practices can be pretty challenging. Changing daily habits can be difficult because they often feel comfortable and known, therefore safe. To make lasting changes, I have found it essential to have a strong why- your why is not influenced by what others want for you or from you, it does not follow societal norms, and is not driven by judgment, guilt, shame, or fear, it’s a deep self-serving purpose that can withstand the ups and downs along the way- because the truth is, you WILL have failures/setbacks/cheat days/bad days, expect it, embrace it, and grow through it.

In addition to this foundational work, my love of learning has played a massive role in my journey. I was determined to understand what was happening with my health, refusing to let my diagnosis dictate my life. With that, I also wasn’t afraid to ask for help. Like everyone else, I acknowledge that I don’t have all the answers and embrace the unknown openly, saying, “Teach me something new!”. This mindset opened the door to a whole new world of support from people who have been there before and are 10, 20, or 100 steps ahead of me to give me efficient and valuable information so I don’t have to start from scratch and also it allowed me to explore a new area of medicine, enabling me to gather all the tools, resources and education I needed to get to the root of my health challenges and then help teach the next woman struggling.

Finally, embodying hope is more than just a catchphrase; it is a powerful mindset. It fosters an environment where we are more likely to take proactive steps rather than succumb to negativity and despair. You see, scientifically, what we think we feel and vice versa. Negative thoughts can cloud our perspective and lead to a cycle of fear and doubt because our brain actively seeks our information to confirm those negative thoughts. When we choose to embrace positivity and have hope, we open ourselves up to new possibilities, next steps, and solutions to help us take action in navigating challenges, especially when the road ahead seems daunting. Being hopeful doesn’t mean being perfect and never having a bad thought during the journey. I had plenty of fear, doubt, and anxiety, but when it came down to it, I made an active choice every day to hold on to hope, even if it was just a sliver.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

I am always looking for opportunities to partner and collaborate with individuals who share a passion for supporting those affected by Hashimoto’s and other thyroid conditions. I love bringing experts into my Hashimoto’s community who can share their knowledge, insights, or unique perspectives to educate and enhance the resources available to these women.

I am particularly interested in collaborating with professionals specializing in holistic healing, whether that be breathwork, meditation, sound therapy, and somatic practices, along with functional nutrition, safe detoxing, building better health habits, gut/brain/adrenal health, and biohacking. If you are an expert in any of these fields, I would love to connect!

You can contact me directly through my website, jasmineparkercoaching.com, or on Instagram @jasmineparkercoaching and see how we could work together to make a meaningful impact for these women.
