Meet Jasmine Tyrone

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jasmine Tyrone a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Jasmine, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
From my parents. I’ve seen my parents work so hard throughout my life to provide and to make a way out of any situation. My work ethic comes from watching them, admiring them so much, and wanting to do for them what they’ve done for me.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My days are most consumed with building JASMINE, also known as “ournameisjasmine”. We are a purpose driven creative design house specializing in headwear and accessories. I founded JASMINE in 2021 and have continued to build it organically from the ground up ever since.

Since I was young, all things fashion, storytelling, and creative expression have come super natural to me. Always wanting to be a successful entrepreneur I decided to create a space where I can design beautiful products, backed with powerful stories. We aim to tell these stories and communicate powerful messages through campaigns, product drops, new releases, and more. We love our products to add that extra spice and glamour to our customers lives while also providing them with that special dose of purpose, authenticity, and substance.

Being that I’m a self taught entrepreneur and designer, everyday is a new opportunity to learn and continue building up my baby, JASMINE.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey of life have been my curiosity, resilience, and faith. My natural curiosity has allowed me to experience so many different hobbies, extra circular activities while I was in school, and even live in different cities (other than Los Angeles, where I am from) like Atlanta, New York, and Philadelphia. Those different diverse experiences all play a part in who I am and have allowed me to become well rounded, not naive, and relatable to so many people from all different back grounds.

My resilience has given me the inner power and determination to never give up. My faith in God is directly related to that in the sense that I know and believe that everything works for my good, and everything happens for a reason. Therefore, any perceived set backs I face, I learn from and keep it pushing because I know it’s only to make me better, more relatable, and inspirational to someone else.

For all my fellow ambitious folks and go getters, I’d tell you to keep being curious because the world is yours to explore and experience. We weren’t created to stress and stay down but to experience, to go hard for the things we want, and to live in joy, peace, and love. I’m so grateful that no matter what I go through my faith and love for God has made my life 100% better. No matter how challenging the process of building and evolving is, doing it with God makes it worth it.

Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?
The most impactful book I have read recently is The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz. In a world where we’re always so flooded with advice snippets, memes, opinions, etc. this book has a way of simplifying life and providing perspective for a more peaceful journey. It’s such a powerful book, I really urge anyone who hasn’t read it before to check it out.
