Meet Jasna Bhayani

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jasna Bhayani. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Jasna, so excited to talk about all sorts of important topics with you today. The first one we want to jump into is about being the only one in the room – for some that’s being the only person of color or the only non-native English speaker or the only non-MBA, etc Can you talk to us about how you have managed to be successful even when you were the only one in the room that looked like you?

Being the only one in the room who looks like me can be daunting at times, but I see it as a chance to embrace my uniqueness and uplift others. I’ve learned to harness my voice and my story to share the richness of diverse perspectives within our industry. My goal is not just to succeed personally, but to inspire fellow women in the community to embrace their authenticity. Together, we can create a supportive environment where everyone feels valued and empowered to shine. It’s about building connections, fostering understanding, and elevating each other as we navigate this journey.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

At the Contour Institute, my passion revolves around making people feel great, as I believe that when we feel good about ourselves, it radiates positivity in every aspect of our lives. I am dedicated to guiding clients toward their best self-care, with the primary goal of enhancing their natural beauty without changing who they are. I want everyone to embrace their unique beauty and feel confident in their skin.

What truly excites me about my work is the incredible community of women I have the privilege of serving. From empowered women to single moms, I am constantly inspired by their stories, strength, and resilience. It’s a reminder that my role goes beyond skincare; it’s about building connections. The joy I see on my clients’ faces when they leave my studio feeling refreshed and confident is what makes this journey so rewarding.

I am incredibly grateful for the support and trust from each of you who walks through my door. Together, we will continue to empower and uplift one another on this self-care journey. We are looking forward to expanding into new services that will further enhance our experience.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back on my journey, three qualities stand out as particularly impactful: passion, empathy, and a commitment to continuous learning.

1. Passion: My love for the beauty industry drives everything I do. It fuels my desire to help others feel their best and has been essential in navigating challenges. I encourage those starting out to find what ignites their passion and allow it to guide their path.

2. Empathy: This quality has helped me forge strong connections with my clients and understand their individual needs. Listening and being present means so much to them. I advise newcomers to cultivate empathy by engaging with their community, learning from others’ experiences, and genuinely connecting with their clients.

3. Continuous Learning: The beauty industry is constantly evolving, and staying informed about new techniques and trends has been crucial for my growth. I recommend that those in the early stages invest in ongoing education through workshops, networking, and seeking mentorships.

Remember, every step of your journey is an opportunity for growth. Stay curious, keep exploring, and don’t hesitate to seek guidance along the way.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?

Here’s a response incorporating your thoughts on the impact your parents had on you:

“The most impactful thing my parents did for me was instilling confidence and teaching me the importance of self-love. They encouraged me to embrace my true self and to believe in my capabilities, which has been foundational in both my personal and professional journey.

Their unwavering support and belief in me provided a solid foundation to navigate life’s challenges, reminding me that self-acceptance is key to happiness. Because of them, I approach every day with gratitude and a positive mindset, empowering myself and those around me. Their teachings continue to guide my work at the Contour Institute, as I strive to inspire my clients to feel confident and love themselves just as much.
