Meet Jasper Moore

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jasper Moore. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Jasper, thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?

One key point is creativity isn’t just a skill — it’s the heartbeat of my brand. I keep my creativity alive by staying close to the why behind what I do — telling stories that move people, shift culture, and reflect the real.
Every shoot, every edit, every frame is a chance to find new rhythm in the ordinary. I fuel that by surrounding myself with energy — music that speaks truth, conversations that spark new perspective, and people who live life with intention. I study film, art, and everyday motion; I listen to stories from the block to the boardroom, because inspiration hides in both.
When the work feels heavy, I step back and observe again — light hitting a wall, a stranger’s expression, the sound of a city breathing. That’s how I reset the lens.
Creativity for me isn’t about chasing perfection — it’s about staying open, curious, and connected. My company Five11 Cinema was built on that spirit. It’s not just production — it’s purpose, captured.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I’m Jasper, founder of Five11 Cinema — a creative production company grounded in storytelling with depth and intention. What began as a passion for documenting real stories has evolved into a brand that bridges artistry, culture, and community through the lens.
Through Five11 Cinema, I’ve been fortunate to create projects that mean something — filming the 2025 Kindness Soirée, a night honoring changemakers and community leaders across Chicago, crafting storytelling pieces for ComEd that highlight impact in our neighborhoods, and working alongside Xzibit on his Chicago tour for Napalm, where I filmed his visit and helped launch the cannabis brand’s debut in Illinois.
What excites me most about what I do is the power of narrative — capturing people and moments that reflect truth, purpose, and evolution. Whether I’m behind the camera at a major event or documenting a brand’s first steps into a new market, I aim to tell stories that last longer than the moment itself.
Right now, Five11 Cinema is expanding — offering tiered photography and videography packages for events and brands while also developing new original projects, including a planned urban drama series that explores ambition, love, and the legacy we leave behind.
At its heart, Five11 Cinema is more than production — it’s about preserving presence. Every story we capture becomes a piece of history, a reflection of where we’ve been and where we’re headed next.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, the three qualities that have shaped my journey the most are vision, adaptability, and intention.
Vision is what started it all. Before Five11 Cinema was a business, it was a belief — that stories from our culture deserved to be captured with care and cinematic quality. I learned early that you have to see it before others do. My advice to anyone just starting out is to protect your vision. It’s your blueprint. Even when people don’t see it yet, hold on and keep building around it.
Adaptability came next. In production and entrepreneurship, things rarely go as planned — timelines shift, budgets change, clients evolve. What kept me moving was the ability to pivot with purpose, not panic. For those starting out: don’t fear change. Learn to bend without breaking. Every challenge is just a new way to refine your craft.
And lastly, intention — the quiet power behind every frame. It’s easy to chase trends, but what lasts is authenticity. I learned to ask myself, “What do I want people to feel when they see this?” That question keeps the work honest. If you’re early in your journey, lead with purpose. Learn the technical side, yes — but never lose the emotional side.
At the end of the day, creativity is a mirror. The more you grow within, the stronger your art shines out.

What would you advise – going all in on your strengths or investing on areas where you aren’t as strong to be more well-rounded?

First, let me explain the meaning behind 511 to give some perspective — it represents positive change, spiritual growth, and the manifestation of your dreams. When I first started Five11 Cinema, I was all passion and vision. I knew how to see the story — how to make a moment cinematic and alive. But business structure, pricing, contracts — those parts weren’t my natural lane. At first, I tried to master everything at once, and it drained the creative spark that made the work special in the first place.
Over time, I realized the key isn’t to be perfect at everything — it’s to build around your strengths and collaborate where you’re weaker. My strength is storytelling — turning real life into film that feels emotional and intentional. Once I leaned into that, things shifted. The partnerships, the opportunities, even the clients — they all connected more naturally because I was showing up in my truest form.
That said, I didn’t ignore my weaker spots. I just learned enough to manage them with clarity — to speak the business language when I needed to, to structure deals that honored the art and the value.
So my take? Master your magic first. The world will always make room for someone exceptional at what they do. Then build systems, relationships, and knowledge around that strength to keep you grounded.
At the end of the day, balance isn’t about doing everything — it’s about knowing where your light shines brightest and letting others help amplify it.
