We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jay Bradley. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jay below.
Jay, first a big thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and insights with us today. I’m sure many of our readers will benefit from your wisdom, and one of the areas where we think your insight might be most helpful is related to imposter syndrome. Imposter syndrome is holding so many people back from reaching their true and highest potential and so we’d love to hear about your journey and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
I suffered from imposter syndrome and low self esteem for most of my life. I think for me, it started as a kid from ongoing bullying. I have tried many healing modalities over the years, along with traditional therapy and the most powerful tool I’ve ever discovered to blast through limiting beliefs and stuck emotions, has been Breathwork. I believe that my regular Breathwork practice has been the main catalyst for me gaining confidence and a sense of self love and self acceptance.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am the founder of BreatheOnIt® and the creator of ChakraBalms®.
BreatheOnIt® is a breathwork school and private practice where I share the transformative gift of the 3-part circular breath.
My true joy and where I thrive is to teach and certify therapists, coaches, and healers in the practice of Breathwork. Supporting them in using their own unique gifts and talents along with the breath, is truly rewarding.
Working with groups and private clients is also amazing. It’s an honor to experience people transforming their lives with this powerful modality.
I created the ChakraBalms® to help people to Ignite their Chakras during spiritual practices such as Yoga, Breathwork, Meditation, and more. Using the healing energy of essential oils, these Balms can be applied before your practice along with positive intentions.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I always say that “your pain is your power.” For me, the pain came from early bullying and a lack of self love and self acceptance. Ironically, these have now become my superpower! I love to help people reconnect with their own inner power. That being said, I believe that my knowledge and studies of the big 3 – BODY, MIND, and SPIRIT have created a wonderful capsule for helping others to heal. When we can combine all parts of who we are and work at bringing awareness, healing, and release, we can become creators of our own experience and we can find a quiet acceptance and joy for all areas.
Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?
I have grown incredibly over the past 12 months because I’ve been in a new relationship for 18 months. Prior to meeting my partner, I was mainly single for 26 years! Learning how to navigate a deep and profound love has taught me so much. It has also brought many fears to the table. While it has been challenging at times, I am loving every moment of this new chapter and the upsides far outweigh the discomforts of growth!
