Meet Jay Fisher

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jay Fisher. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jay below.

Jay , looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?

I was deeply influenced by my parents in my work ethic. Growing up, I watched my mom tirelessly working seven days a week to make sure there was food on the table for me and my siblings. Her dedication and hard work instilled in me the value of perseverance and the importance of working hard to achieve my goals in life.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

My professional journey as a personal chef originates from a deep-seated love for the culinary arts, which initially arose out of necessity but later evolved into a fervent passion. My upbringing in the rustic environs of Jamaica laid the foundation for my culinary identity.

As a prominent personal chef in the southern region of Florida, I take pride in presenting my culinary expertise through my brand, DesignByFood. Our offerings encompass a wide spectrum, including catering services, private chef engagements, and bespoke gourmet meal preparations.

Furthermore, our array of services extends to encompass bespoke culinary experiences such as travel chef provisions, complemented by the availability of our exclusive line of artisanal spices featuring Jerk seasoning, complete seasoning, and lemon pepper seasoning.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Consistency, dedication, and self-confidence are fundamental pillars that underpin my life and all my achievements.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?

“Alway put your best in everything you do, even if it fail at the end of the day. Just know that you fail doing your best.”
I live by this rule everyday.
