Meet Jay Horne

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jay Horne a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Jay, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

my resilience comes from my relationship with God. My faith has always been my anchor. Even in my hardest moments, I knew God was with me, and that gave me strength I didn’t always feel on my own. I’ve learned to lean on Him for everything—especially when life doesn’t make sense. But I also think a big part of my resilience comes from my journey of self-discovery. From around age 12 to 25, I spent so many years trying to fit in, trying to be who others expected me to be. And that season really tested me. But over time, I realized that I’m uniquely made by God, and I don’t have to shrink or change who I am to be accepted. That shift in mindset was powerful. It was like I finally found myself—and that version of me is strong.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I’m a Christian Life & Relationship Coach, and my heart is all about helping women heal, grow in confidence, and prepare for God’s best in every area of their lives. My focus is faith-forward coaching meaning everything I do is rooted in Scripture, prayer, and helping women align with God’s plan for their lives, not just their own.

What makes my work special is that I truly listen. I don’t just hear what my clients say I hear what’s not being said. God has given me a gift of discernment and empathy that allows women to open up and feel safe. I create a space where healing can happen, where truth can be spoken in love, and where transformation begins.

I help women navigate emotional trauma, heartbreak, identity struggles, and confusion in their purpose or relationships. A lot of women are silently struggling, especially in the church, and they feel like they have to hold it all together. I help them release, reflect, and rebuild so they can move forward with clarity and peace.

Right now, I’m working on a few exciting things!
I’m expanding my Faith & Fitness devotional series, which helps people grow spiritually and physically with guided reflection, movement, and prayer.
I’m also in the process of creating courses and group coaching programs that provide more accessible ways for women to heal and grow at their own pace.
And this year, I’m sharing more of my personal journey to turning 40 lessons I’ve learned, milestones I’m reaching, and the joy of becoming who God created me to be.

My brand is all about authenticity, faith, growth, and freedom. I’m not just here to coach I’m here to walk alongside women as they rediscover who they are in Christ and step boldly into the life God has for them.

So if you’re a woman or man who feels stuck, unseen, or like you’ve lost pieces of yourself along the way I want you to know: healing is possible. And you don’t have to do it alone.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, I’d say the three most impactful qualities in my journey have been: self-awareness, faith, and consistency.

Self-awareness was a game changer for me. For a long time, I was moving through life based on what other people expected of me. But when I finally slowed down and started asking the hard questions Who am I… What do I truly want… What wounds am I still carrying, everything began to shift. Becoming aware of my patterns, triggers, and desires allowed me to grow in a way that was intentional and aligned with who God created me to be.
Advice I would give: Start with journaling, prayer, and reflection. Get honest with yourself, even when it’s uncomfortable. Awareness is the first step to freedom.

Faith has carried me through every season especially the ones that didn’t make sense. There were times I wanted to quit, when healing felt too hard or the vision felt too far, but my trust in God kept me grounded. Faith reminded me that it’s not about perfection—it’s about progress and purpose.
Advice I would give Stay connected to God through His Word, worship, and community. Invite Him into the process, and trust that He’s not wasting your pain. He’s building something beautiful, even when you can’t see it yet.

Consistency is what made the difference between dreaming and becoming. I used to struggle with discipline and structure, but once I started building healthy routines mentally, spiritually, and physically I started seeing real transformation. It’s not about being perfect every day; it’s about showing up, even when you don’t feel like it.
Advice I would give: Don’t wait to feel “ready” to start. Start small. Build habits that align with your vision. Consistency creates momentum, and momentum creates change.

I would say wherever you are in your journey, give yourself grace. Growth takes time, healing isn’t linear, and no one has it all figured out. But if you stay rooted in faith, stay curious about who you are, and keep showing up you will become everything God called you to be.

Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?

The number one challenge I’ve faced and honestly still working through is learning to put myself first. For so long, I would constantly give away my time, energy, and even my peace to help others. I’ve always had a heart to serve and support people, but I didn’t realize that I was doing it at the expense of my own needs, goals, and well-being.

It’s a pattern that came from wanting to be dependable and not let anyone down—but what I’ve learned is that when I constantly put others ahead of myself, I end up feeling drained, resentful, and behind on the things God has actually called me to do.

So now, I’m being very intentional about creating healthy boundaries. That means saying “no” without guilt, blocking out time for what matters to me, and giving myself permission to rest and refuel. I’ve started prioritizing the goals I’ve set whether it’s in business, health, or personal development—and making sure I’m not putting them on the back burner anymore.

It’s a daily process, but it’s so freeing. I’ve learned that putting me first isn’t selfish it’s stewardship. Because when I’m full, focused, and aligned, I’m actually able to give from a healthier, more empowered place.
