Meet JayBesso

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to JayBesso. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

JayBesso, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?

My resilience comes from what I used to think was a lifelong stroke of bad luck. Turned out it was the key to my potentially being great and going down as a memorable guy.

I’ve always found myself as the main character in one of the most outrageous, and absurd sitcoms that I have ever had the privilege of witnessing. I used to think that these misadventures, (events that would occur sporadically, which for others seemed like they would only occur once in a blue moon, but would occur for me on any given Tuesday – or any other completely random time) were not a source of pain, but a chance to really pull at the fabric of reality and see how far this thing really unravels.

Like, I wouldn’t even say that unanticipated incidents in my life were unfortunate, but just chaotic, sexy, ridiculous and random ( I have a habit of attracting the most interesting people into my orbit but also some of the most pained & I always learn or experience some lasting lesson ) .

A few of these situations brought me chances to grow and really figure out my limits and capabilities outside of my day to day story or life. I got a lot of exposure to the depth of life while young & since then have been just chasing experiences and trying to max out my life stats.

I give a lot of the credit (speaking on “resilience” to the strangers, the one-night-only wingmen, past lovers/friends, & the ships passing in the night.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I’m just a guy.

Well, I’m an artist…but my “gimmick” is I’m just a guy, yet I’m this superhero, this spiritual and practical savior for the masses. I go by these self-coined honorifics ‘The Hurtful Healer’ ‘The Rising Son’ ‘The Universe’s Favorite’ but honestly I’m just a guy who makes music.

The difference is I’ve been honest about how ordinary and how extremely flawed and toxic I am & have been . That’s why I have the level of confidence I have. I’ve experienced about every emotion I can put words to in such a powerful fashion (in one way or another) and I take every bit of that into how I continue to move through this maze.

I’ve earned my redemption early on in life for lines I once crossed.

It’s the utter lack of a ‘cool factor’ that gives me my cool factor . It’s my openness that makes me mysterious.

‘Dude shares all of his secrets. No one can tell the truth about themselves & want/earn that much redemption and still not have a mountain of skeletons in their closet… what is he hiding? What is he not telling us? Will we hate him at the end of it all?’

Well, that’s the X factor of my whole artistic reality . I’m building this grandiose world full of prolific messages and lessons, and the main critique I’ve run into is “who are you to preach this whole Gospel of Growth?”

My response to that is “I’m the one who will go on a polygraph in an instant & prove that we all can glow and grow past our pain witty passion”.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Three qualities in my life that have pushed me further on my path have been my desire for growth, my ability to empathize (even with ‘monsters’), and to know , despite every perception and preconceived notion, looks can still be deceiving.

My advice to people looking to embark on their own Hero’s journey is this : being sexy fades , being raw & you, in all your essence is to be undying .

No one reaches legendary status by emulating their hero’s (they eventually let you down …looking at the artist formerly known as Kanye West) .

They reach the hall of fame by showing [anyone] can be a legend through living their legend out as it is .

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

I am always looking to collaborate .

I used to think I could be the best by wearing many hats. I came to learn that others can style a hat better than I could ever dream. That’s how I approach my music and art.

I’m looking for world builders. People with the talent but the vision to do more than push a product or sound.

I’m looking to work with those who can channel emotion and authenticity into their craft through visuals, intonation, technical innovation & conceptual thinking .

I really want to lock in with choirs, producers and honestly a manager .

But at the moment any creative willing to gather energy to manifest the new classics of this time, to craft the new generation of sound…

I want them on my team by any means
