Meet Jayda Bryan

We recently connected with Jayda Bryan and have shared our conversation below.

Jayda, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

I discovered my purpose through deep self-reflection and a transformative experience that made it clear—motherhood is my calling. Not just in raising my own children, but in sharing the journey of motherhood with others. That realization led me to support women as a nurse, childbirth educator, and lactation advocate. My work is a reflection of that purpose—to empower, educate, and advocate for mothers at every stage.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I am deeply passionate about maternal health and empowering women through education, advocacy, and support. As a Lamaze educator, lactation advocate, and founder of Real Birth Knowledge, my mission is to make maternal health more transparent, accessible, and empowering—especially for women in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Through RealBirthKnowledge.com, I provide expecting mothers with evidence-based education, eBooks on home birth and birthing without insurance, and personalized classes to help them feel confident and informed about their birth choices. My work extends beyond education—I’m also an advocate, pushing for initiatives like pregnancy parking and improved maternal care policies.

What excites me most is seeing women step into their birth experiences with confidence. Birth is transformative, and I believe every mother deserves to feel empowered and supported. Right now, I’m expanding my advocacy efforts and launching new resources to help women navigate pregnancy, birth, and postpartum with more ease.

If you’re expecting or simply passionate about maternal health, I’d love for you to follow my journey on Instagram @jayda__bryan or explore the resources on RealBirthKnowledge.com.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, three qualities that were most impactful in my journey are resilience, adaptability, and advocacy.

Resilience – The path to maternal health advocacy and education hasn’t always been easy. There were moments of uncertainty, challenges, and setbacks, but my commitment to my purpose kept me going. I was a single mom of twins in nursing school and looking back I am so glad I never gave up! For those starting their journey, I encourage you to embrace challenges as learning experiences. Growth happens in the moments when you push through difficulty.
Adaptability – Whether it was shifting career paths, learning new skills, or adjusting my approach to better serve mothers, adaptability has been key. The world is constantly evolving, and so is the maternal health space. I recommend staying open to change, continuously learning, and being willing to pivot when necessary.
Advocacy – Knowing how to stand up for yourself and others is essential. Whether it’s advocating for better maternal care, educating women about their options, or fighting for policy changes, advocacy has shaped my work. For those early in their journey, I suggest finding a cause you’re passionate about and using your voice—big or small, advocacy starts with action.

No matter where you are in your journey, stay committed, stay curious, and stay true to your purpose. Everything else will follow.

Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?

My ideal client is a pregnant woman or new mother who wants to feel empowered, informed, and supported throughout her journey. She values evidence-based education, wants to make informed choices about her birth and postpartum experience, and seeks a nurturing space where her questions and concerns are truly heard.

She may be:

– A first-time mom feeling overwhelmed and unsure of where to start.
– A mother looking for guidance on birthing without insurance.
– Someone who wants a natural, confident, and positive birth experience with the right education and support.
– A mom navigating breastfeeding and postpartum challenges who needs compassionate, expert guidance.

Most importantly, my ideal client is someone who wants to take charge of her birth and motherhood experience and believes in the power of education and advocacy to make that happen.

If that sounds like you, I’d love to support you through Real Birth Knowledge—because every mother deserves to feel prepared, confident, and empowered.
