We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jayden Doye. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jayden below.
Hi Jayden , appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
My resilience stems from my upbringing and early experiences with limited resources. Growing up just shy of the federal poverty line in Prince George’s County, MD, I learned firsthand how to persevere, adapt, and make the most out of what little we had. That experience taught me the value of economic stability, and it set me on a mission to achieve financial growth and security—not just for myself but for others, too. This drive carried me through college, where I tackled significant student debt, and it fueled my career as I worked my way up from a small CPA firm to founding my own business.
Every challenge I faced, from my education to building Prestige Accounting Solutions, reinforced the importance of resilience, sacrifice, and strategic action. Now, I bring that same perseverance to my clients, especially law firm owners, helping them grow their practices sustainably and manage their finances through even the toughest times. My resilience isn’t just about my journey; it’s about empowering others to push through and succeed as well.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
As President of Prestige Accounting & Consulting, I specialize in helping law firm owners achieve what I call a ‘First-Class Firm.’ My focus is on empowering these firms to generate at least $1 million annually, provide the owner a six-figure salary, and establish the team and systems to support a balanced life, including the freedom to take six or more trips a year. This isn’t just about numbers—it’s about creating a thriving business that sustains the lifestyle the owner envisions.
What makes Prestige unique is our proactive approach. Unlike many CPA firms that only engage clients at year-end, I work with law firms continuously, implementing strategies to help them avoid tax overpayments and maximize profits. As a legal accounting expert, I also integrate the Profit First method to strengthen clients’ cash flow management. Many CPAs shy away from this method, but I see it as a transformative tool for law firm owners.
Consulting is my passion. I’m a visionary at heart, so when clients bring me roadblocks, I love developing tailored solutions that help them overcome obstacles and grow. This passion for solving complex problems extends into our service model: I consult with clients in five core areas—cash flow, labor, IT/systems, marketing & branding, and business organization—to build a robust foundation for growth.
In 2025, I’ll be hosting three law firm growth retreats internationally, providing owners with the opportunity to step back and work on their business. The retreats will be held in Jamaica, Curacao, and the Dominican Republic, offering a refreshing setting for strategic growth.
My journey has been deeply influenced by my background and resilience. Growing up in a financially challenging environment taught me the importance of perseverance, and I share my story with clients to show that it’s possible to build a successful business from humble beginnings. Many lawyers are not trained in business management, so my experience building a million-dollar enterprise from the ground up allows me to offer practical advice on thriving even with limited resources.
For those interested in learning more, I’m a two-time #1 best-selling author, and my books, Raise The Bar and Make it Reign, are available on Amazon. I also offer a free e-book, Don’t Get Disbarred, which helps law firm owners improve their financial practices and avoid costly mistakes.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Always Improving: From the beginning, I committed to learning and growing continuously, even when resources were limited. This mindset not only helped me refine my skills but also allowed me to innovate and stay ahead in a constantly changing industry. My advice to anyone early in their journey is to embrace a mindset of lifelong learning. Seek out mentors, read extensively, and invest in your professional development. Every skill you gain builds your foundation and sets you apart.
Clarity: Knowing exactly what I wanted to achieve gave me the focus to move through challenges with purpose. For me, that clarity was in building a ‘First-Class Firm’—not just for myself but as a model for my clients. My advice here is to take the time to define your vision. Get specific about what you want to achieve and why it matters to you. With clarity, you’ll make better decisions, waste less time, and navigate setbacks more easily.
Passion: Passion for my work has been my driving force, especially during challenging times. It’s the fuel that keeps you going when the road is tough. I’d encourage anyone to find a way to create a profitable business around what excites them. When you’re passionate about what you do, it shows, and it attracts people to you. Combine that with effective marketing, and you can make an impact on as many people as possible.
To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
The most impactful thing my parents did for me was to drop me off at college and then let me handle everything on my own from that point forward. They didn’t help me move in or get adjusted, and that moment taught me a powerful lesson in self-reliance. I realized that if nobody else was going to have my back, I needed to have my own. From then on, I committed to becoming the best version of myself so that I could always depend on myself, no matter what challenges came my way.
This experience shaped my approach to life and business. It taught me resilience, independence, and a determination to find solutions rather than waiting for others to step in. This self-reliance has been invaluable in my journey as a business owner, and it’s something I bring to my clients as well. My goal is to empower them to achieve financial independence and stability so they, too, can always rely on themselves.
