Meet Jayden (JP) Price

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jayden (JP) Price. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Jayden (JP), looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
I got my work ethic from my mother, I watched my mom take care of me and my little brother by herself and made sure we didn’t want for anything. My mom worked day in and day out and worked so much, but it has all paid off. I watched my mom buy the car she always wanted, buy a house like she always wanted to, travel when she wants, and she’s going to retire early. She wouldn’t have the things or be able to do the things she wants if she didn’t work as hard as she did. After seeing my mom work as hard as she did and get the things that she wanted, I knew that putting time and effort into something the reward will be worth it in the end. I’ve also seen it for myself, I’ve noticed over the years that when I half do something or don’t put any effort into something, I feel like I’m wasting my time and I’m not getting anything out of it.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am a creative, consultant, and film producer. I’m in a lane where I don’t just do one thing. I love doing multiple things and working on multiple different projects. I don’t ever want to be placed a box where I only do one thing and know how to do one thing. The ultimate goal is to have my very own creative space (studio), to have my own production company and be able to help other creatives reach their goals and full potential.

I have a few projects that I’m working on in 2024. First being DON clothing, my first love is making and designing clothes. I feel like this project will definitely be the stepping stone into getting my name in the industry. I’ve have 4 years of gathering information and knowledge so now I think I’m actually ready. I’m currently working to get the clothing and accessories into some store in Columbus, Atlanta, and New York so be on the lookout for that.

The second project I’m working on is my first film called ‘Her’. Inspired by poems my mother wrote throughout her life. I was actually supposed to start this project last year but I think I still had some learning to do but after a year of getting more experience I’m ready to make my directorial debut.

I have a couple more things in the works for 2024 but don’t want to speak too soon. You’ll just have to wait and see!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I think the three qualities that were, and still are most impactful in my journey is learning patience, knowing myself and what I’m capable of, and soaking up as much information as possible. Being patient and knowing that whatever you are working toward or for will come when it’s time. Gods timing is always perfect. Sometimes we can get lost in wanting things when we want them and not when we are ready for them. It’s imperative to learn how to be patient and wait for your time to come. Second, knowing myself and what I’m capable of. I’ll be honest this is something that I’m currently working on, there are so many things that I want to do but I have to remember that there are certain things that I’m good at and there are things that I’m not good at yet. It’s really learning how to not put too much on my plate. Stick to what you’re good at and master it until you get to a place where you can venture out and learn how to other things. The last quality that I feel has a huge impact on my journey is intaking as much information as possible. I have surrounded myself with people who have done what I want to do or are doing what I want to do. Whether it be from a mentor, someone who has achieved something you want to achieve, or even if it’s just the internet, gather as much knowledge as you can, never stop learning.

Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?
Mark Victor Hansen’s ‘How to Think Bigger and go from Ordinary to Extraordinary’. I read this book over the year of 2023 and it’s by far one of the best books I’ve read. Mr Hansen did a great job of breaking down how we think and how we have the ability to change everything around in our life if we want to. We create our reality, I know that probably sounds cliche but if you really think about it, that is 100% true. Sometimes when we get to a bad place in our lives we tend to blame everything and everyone except for ourselves. We are the cause of every single thing that happens in our lives good and bad. He also talks about how fear is non existent, “fear is embracing and believing in a negative image and negative outcome.” Fear is faith in a wrong thing, when you believe everything will be good then that’s exactly what it’s going to be. There is so much more this book and I suggest everyone give it a read, I definitely think it’s worth it.
