We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jayden Mack a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Jayden with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
My strong work ethic comes from my background as a former athlete. Having played basketball throughout my life, I’ve learned the importance of discipline, perseverance, and commitment. Not achieving my ultimate goal in basketball has become a driving force in other areas of my life, including photography. I know firsthand that falling short often comes from not putting in enough effort, and I refuse to let that happen in anything else I pursue.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am the CEO and sole proprietor of MackMedia Productions, a photography and videography business. One of the most exciting aspects of running MackMedia is seeing how much it has grown over the past few years. While my primary focus is photography and videography, I also explore journalism from time to time. In September, I had the opportunity to interview the cast of Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist, featuring Kevin Hart, Samuel L. Jackson, and Don Cheadle.
The next major step for MackMedia is launching a booking site, which I look forward to rolling out in the coming months.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back, three qualities that have had a big impact on my journey are faith, perseverance, and determination.
For anyone looking to develop these qualities, my advice is simple: you can either worry about it or pray about it—you can’t do both.
By staying focused and actively working toward your goals, you’ll naturally develop determination, pushing yourself to get the job done no matter what. In doing so, you’ll also build perseverance as you learn to navigate and overcome obstacles. And as you see things fall into place through your hard work and dedication, your faith will only grow stronger, reinforcing your belief that success is within reach.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
Whenever I feel overwhelmed, I take a step back, go outside, and get some fresh air. Feeling overwhelmed is often the result of overthinking the work ahead. By stepping away from my workspace—whether it’s my computer or desk—I give myself the chance to clear my head and refocus. This break allows me to plan more effectively and take the right steps to complete my tasks with a fresh perspective.
I prefer to handle the easier projects first, saving the larger ones for last. Once I get into a productive rhythm, I find that momentum makes it much easier to take on the bigger tasks. By completing the smaller projects first, I build rhythm, efficiency and confidence, allowing me to approach the more challenging work with a clear and focused mindset.
