Meet Jayden Manis

We recently connected with Jayden Manis and have shared our conversation below.

Jayden, thank you so much for joining us today. Let’s jump right into something we’re really interested in hearing about from you – being the only one in the room. So many of us find ourselves as the only woman in the room, the only immigrant or the only artist in the room, etc. Can you talk to us about how you have learned to be effective and successful in situations where you are the only one in the room like you?

Honestly, learning to envision my future life is what makes me more effective and successful. When I go in public places, I’m always thinking about how nobody knows who I am yet, but how someday I’ll walk through the same store turning heads and fans coming up for pictures. All because I never gave up. That said, I feel like a lot of my success hasn’t come to life yet, I have so many loyal supporters across the globe and I come across as so confident and vulnerable on the internet but If you met me in real life you’d see I’m quiet, And I don’t really speak unless spoken to (Unless it’s about music) And I feel that it’s something people should know because it shows I’m really like everyone else, I do lack confidence, I feel in the same way everyone else does, and to me even admitting that to my supporters, Is effective/successful in itself.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

Jayden Manis is an 18-year-old pop artist and songwriter from Syracuse, New York, known for his emotionally raw lyrics and genre-blending sound that fuses Acoustic pop, R&B, and indie influences. Starting with just a school Chromebook and a headset, Jayden’s journey into music began in his bedroom, driven by a passion to create and share his stories.

His singles have showcased his ability to craft relatable narratives and connect with listeners on a personal level.
Beyond his music, Jayden is recognized for his entrepreneurial spirit, emphasizing his commitment to authenticity and purpose over fame. His approach to music is not just about entertainment; it’s about healing and unity, aiming to bring people together through shared experiences and emotions.

With a growing presence on platforms like Spotify, TikTok, and Instagram, Jayden continues to build a dedicated fanbase. His journey reflects a blend of artistic talent, resilience, and a deep connection to his audience, positioning him as a rising star in the music industry.

In a significant move for his career, Jayden signed a distribution deal with AWAL, a division of Sony Music Entertainment. This partnership allows him to maintain his independence while gaining access to global distribution and resources. Jayden remains focused on his mission to create music that speaks for the unheard and empowers those who have stayed silent.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

The top 3 qualities/Skills that have impacted my career are, Vulnerability, Independence, and Marketing. Combining these together over time Is making my name undeniable. My best advice Is to create as you get better, meaning Promote your music even if It’s not good right now, This will build the skills you need to promote once you do have a good song, Don’t wait for a good song and then take a gamble on marketing. Some of my worst songs were getting 300k Views on TikTok early on In my career because I was all in when it came to marketing. It’s all trail and error, Post, Learn, Repeat.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?

“It’s All In Your Head” By Russ. This Is a recent read I picked up on but It is full of knowledge that every Independent artist should know. Every piece has been valuable and I found this connection between me and Russ, one of the most successful Independent Artists In the world. We work the same, we think the same, and It shows me the outcome of what this hard work will lead to. Exactly what he’s experiencing and more. I feel that the most valuable Information I got was reassurance that the life he’s living, Is the outcome of what I’m doing right now.
