Meet Jayden Smith-Cox

We were lucky to catch up with Jayden Smith-Cox recently and have shared our conversation below.

Jayden, we’ve been so fortunate to work with so many incredible folks and one common thread we have seen is that those who have built amazing lives for themselves are also often the folks who are most generous. Where do you think your generosity comes from?
I think it comes from the example that my parents set for me and my siblings

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am 12 years old. I am a best selling author for my book “The Honorable Bee” that I wrote in the 5th grade. I have my own clothing line. I was on the soccer and chess team at my old school. I am an honors student and I give back to my community so much I was awarded the City of Aurora MLK service above self award. My parents are both best selling authors, successful entrepreneurs, my dad is a war hero and motivational speaker and my mom is a world record holder, and global podcaster and business/life coach

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Well I’m only 12, (I will be 13 in January 2024) so as of now the most important skill that could make my journey impactful would be to do less talking and more listening to people who have lived longer and experienced more on the same path I plan to take. That’s the advice I would give people as well. Experts are experts for a reason they had to fail so many times so that gives them the experience to be able to tell you how to do it successfully (that’s what my dad tells me)

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
They researched grants that funded my clothing line with trademark and start up costs and my mom helped me to learn how to market and advertise my brand.
