Meet Jazalyn Williams

We recently connected with Jazalyn Williams and have shared our conversation below.

Jazalyn, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

I didn’t find my purpose all at once — it revealed itself through lived experience, responsibility, and listening to what kept calling me back.

My purpose began forming during moments when life felt heavy — when I was navigating personal challenges, motherhood, and the realities faced by families and communities around me who were doing their best to survive without adequate support. I saw how often people were expected to “push through” without space to heal, without resources, and without anyone truly seeing them. And I realized I was being shaped not just by what I endured, but by how deeply I cared.

What stood out to me was this: even in my own moments of uncertainty, I was always showing up for others. Whether it was offering encouragement, connecting someone to resources, feeding families, or creating space for people to feel supported — service kept finding me. And eventually, I understood that it wasn’t accidental. It was intentional.

Founding Hidden Blessing Foundation was the moment my purpose became clear. I recognized that my experiences — the struggle, the resilience, the compassion — were not just for me. They were preparation. Preparation to build something rooted in dignity, healing, and empowerment. Hidden Blessing exists because I believe that every person carries value, even when life has tried to convince them otherwise. Sometimes people just need someone to remind them of the blessing they already are.

My purpose is to create spaces where people feel seen, supported, and restored — not only in moments of crisis, but in their journey toward stability and wholeness. Through Hidden Blessing Foundation, I am able to serve with intention, lead with empathy, and transform pain into purpose. I didn’t find my purpose by searching outward — I found it by answering the call to serve that kept showing up in my life.

And once I said yes to that call, everything aligned.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, three qualities have been most impactful in my journey: self-awareness, resilience, and the ability to lead with compassion.

Self-awareness helped me understand who I am, what I value, and where I needed to grow. Taking time to reflect—especially during challenging seasons—allowed me to make intentional choices instead of reactive ones. My advice for those early in their journey is to slow down and listen to yourself. Journaling, mentorship, and honest self-reflection are powerful tools for growth.

Resilience carried me through moments of uncertainty and doubt. Building something meaningful often comes with setbacks, and resilience is what allows you to keep going when progress feels slow. For anyone just starting out, remember that obstacles are part of the process, not a sign to stop. Stay consistent, give yourself grace, and don’t be afraid to learn as you go.

Finally, leading with compassion has shaped everything I do. Whether working with community members, partners, or my own team, compassion builds trust and creates impact that lasts. My advice is to never lose your humanity in the pursuit of success. When you lead with empathy and integrity, the work becomes deeper, more sustainable, and more fulfilling.

Together, these qualities have guided my path and continue to shape how I serve, lead, and grow.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?

The person who has been most helpful in helping me overcome challenges and develop essential skills is my business partner, Joinoice Cooper, who serves as the Treasurer of Hidden Blessing Foundation. Her steady support, integrity, and commitment to the mission have been instrumental in my growth as a leader and founder.

Joinoice brings a grounded perspective and strong sense of accountability that has helped strengthen both our organization and my own leadership. Through collaboration, honest conversations, and shared responsibility, she has challenged me to think strategically, manage resources wisely, and remain focused on long-term sustainability.

In addition to my partnership with Joinoice, I’ve been shaped by mentors, community members, and lived experiences that taught me resilience, compassion, and adaptability. Together, these relationships have provided the guidance, encouragement, and clarity needed to lead with purpose and confidence.
