Meet Jazmin Lozano

We recently connected with Jazmin Lozano and have shared our conversation below.

Jazmin, we’ve been so fortunate to work with so many incredible folks and one common thread we have seen is that those who have built amazing lives for themselves are also often the folks who are most generous. Where do you think your generosity comes from?
My generosity comes from the example my father set for me. He was a very generous man who was always available to help out his family and friends in need. He was a kind of guy who would do anything for anyone, and he never expected anything back.

I have many amazing memories of my father but I always remember the time when I was little, the ice cream truck came down our street. All of the kids were running out to get it including my sister and I, but I remember my dad stopping them all and buying us all ice cream, as well as himself one because the man loved his sweets. He loved to make people feel happy and cared for and that’s why I do it—to make sure other people feel the same way I did when I was a kid. I think that generosity comes from being available and present in life. If you’re there for others in their time of need, they’ll be there for you when you need it too—and those are the relationships that last forever.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I own a creative grazing company focused on serving our minority community, financial inclusivity, being environmentally conscious and giving back when possible.

What’s exciting about my line of work is introducing a new culture and experience to an audience and demographic that would normally not be catered to. I love being able to witness the joy in my clients eyes when they try new flavors and they end up enjoying it!

I also feel it’s important for me as a minority to use my platform for good. I feel like it’s important for us as minorities to not only own our space but also give back to our communities when possible, when you grow your community grows as well.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I would say that the three most impactful qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge in my journey were:

1. The ability to not take offense. I’ve always been very friendly and adaptable, which has helped me build relationships with people from all walks of life. It’s also allowed me to be more open-minded about how people think and act.

2. Placing my mental health and myself first before the business. I’ve always wanted to make sure that I took care of myself physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually before anything else—and that’s really helped me maintain a healthy balance between work and play. This has help me create a healthy and stable foundation for both myself and my business.

3. Advice I’d give others is to focus on yourself and do what you love! When you do what you love and do it authentically the orders and money will follow!

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
My parents taught me to be humble, kind and hard working. They were immigrants who came to this country with nothing but their dream of a better life. They worked so hard to build a life for us and seeing how they were treated for not knowing how to read or write, but still learning to thrive despite those obstacles, has always been an inspiration for me. It made me realize that we can’t let our circumstances define us, even if they’re difficult ones.

I have a soft spot for our minority community especially immigrants which is why I started my business around being financially inclusive. One should not feel excluded despite their financial status, I believe everyone deserves to feel luxurious and enjoy the boujee things in life at a not so boujee price.
