Meet Jazmine Davis

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jazmine Davis a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Jazmine , we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
I draw my resilience from the profound journey through my parents’ grief. Losing my mother at the tender age of 11, and then my father at 17, plunged me into years of deep depression. In the midst of my struggle, I reflected on pivotal conversations with my parents, where they expressed their fervent wish for me to embrace life to its fullest. Their words became a guiding light for me.

Fueled by their aspirations, along with my unwavering faith, a profound connection with God, and the support of therapy, I embarked on a journey of healing. It was a transformative process that empowered me to confront my fears and pursue my passions and dreams—something I had long been hesitant to do. The realization that I had already faced profound loss made me think, ‘What else can I lose?’

Processing grief at such a young age fundamentally altered my perspective on life. It instilled in me a drive to seize every opportunity, no matter how small, because I’ve come to understand the importance of leaving nothing on the table. This profound shift in mindset has been instrumental in shaping my journey as an entrepreneur, propelling me to embrace life with resilience and an unwavering commitment to pursue my dreams.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I founded Jazmine Kionna driven by my personal journey. After battling years of depression, I longed to rediscover the vibrant version of myself— the Jazmine who confidently rocked 6-inch heels daily. The catalyst for my venture was during a college internship, I completed a 5-hour drive, where I used my hard-earned money from my internship (perhaps not the wisest choice) to invest in my first pair of designer shoes. To my dismay, they were incredibly uncomfortable. This experience fueled my determination to redefine the intersection of comfort and style in luxury footwear.

At Jazmine Kionna, we’ve revolutionized high heels by overhauling their insoles with our proprietary technology. Our 3-layered system is meticulously crafted to deliver unmatched comfort and optimal support during every movement.

Our vegan corn leather heels feature a shock-absorbent gel layer to cushion the impact of your walk. Nestled in the heart of our shoes is memory foam—an incredibly soft yet supportive material that molds to your foot’s shape, providing a sensation akin to walking on clouds. To top it off, we’ve incorporated high-performance microbial vegan leather to combat foul odors and prevent bacteria growth.

Every Jazmine Kionna heel is a testament to our commitment to keeping your feet comfortable with each step. We’ve put an end to the woes of traditional high heels, revolutionizing the experience one pump at a time. Stay tuned for our upcoming designs; we can’t wait for you to join us in experiencing their release!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I have learned to stop and smell the roses. Oftentimes, we are always on the go, and we don’t stop to celebrate the small wins or heal from disappointments. I have been learning to give myself grace in this journey and encourage others to do the same. I feel that by always being on the go, we often focus on what’s not going right versus all that we have achieved. This causes a ton of imposter syndrome within myself and doubt.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
As an entrepreneur who has pioneered the creation of this brand, I’m actively seeking collaborators who possess expertise in marketing, particularly in the realm of social media. Given my background as a scientist, navigating the intricacies of social media feels akin to dealing with a dinosaur. I am eager to connect with creative individuals who excel in this domain.

In exchange for their insights and strengths in social media, I’m more than willing to offer advice and potentially provide connections to aid in the growth of their businesses. This collaborative exchange extends not only to sharing knowledge but also to assisting in the discovery of financial resources. Let’s join forces and propel each other to new heights in the entrepreneurial landscape.
