Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jazmine Nichole. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jazmine , so great to be with you and I think a lot of folks are going to benefit from hearing your story and lessons and wisdom. Imposter Syndrome is something that we know how words to describe, but it’s something that has held people back forever and so we’re really interested to hear about your story and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
Overcoming imposter syndrome has been extremely difficult for me. Sometimes I still struggle to see what others see in me and my talent as a writer/storyteller. I would find myself doubting if my work is good enough which made me very afraid of sharing it for the world to see. Seeing the reactions of my readers once they either read or listen to my work has helped me overcome imposter syndrome. I now purposely watch closely as they experience Storytelling Is An Art, which motivates me to believe in myself more. My readers’ reactions are always genuine mixed with a little yearning for more lol! I’m always left with the thought “Wow Jazz you’re good at this.” That itself fueled me to replace self-doubt with positive affirmations, to stop selling myself short, and to embrace this gift that God has given me to share with the world.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am Jazmine Nichole the author and creator of Storytelling Is An Art LLC. I not only write and create stories but, I also take you on an immersive journey in the art of storytelling. I learned to captivate my audience with my words while visually stimulating them. I turned Jazmine Nichole into a brand for Storytelling Is An Art. making myself the face of the Street Erotica franchise. The most special thing about this journey is allowing myself as a woman to freely express my sensuality while inspiring other women to embrace theirs openly without fear of judgment. In this time where we as women are being told what to do with our bodies it’s important for me to dispel any negative notions when it comes to our sexuality and desires. I am extremely excited about the future of Storytelling Is An Art LLC. There are so many new releases in store under this umbrella starting with my latest book Sreet Erotica which is a collection of 14 short erotca stories. There is also an audiobook version of Street Ertioca highlighting 6 of my favorite stories from the book. It is available on all musical platforms. Be on the lookout for Adult Storytime a live reading of a different story every week, The Street Erotica card drinking game is now available! And last but not least I am pushing for the Street Erotica web or television series.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I believe the three qualities that were most impactful on my journey were:
Experience; I’m a firm believer in the motto “Live it then write about it.” I pride myself in writing from experience, It makes it easier for my stories to become relatable. I rarely would write about anything I have not been through myself no matter how small or major. The next quality is patience. As you can imagine it takes a great deal of patience to write a book. Without patience and discipline, it is impossible to even begin becoming an author. And, I would have to say the final quality would be a vivid imagination. I think that is a needed skill when writing fiction. You have to make sure the stories are not repetitive and creating different scenarios for each book is crucial in having multiple bodies of work.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
My third book Storytelling Is An Art: Street Erotica has played an important role in my development. Being that the book was loosely based on myself it allowed me to crack the shell I surrounded myself in for years. It helped me overcome my shyness and put myself out there as a brand, business owner, and author. I had to learn to put that fear to bed or watch someone else do what was meant for me. The wisdom I learned from embracing this new me as Jazmine Nichole is that only I can deliver a story that will leave a lasting impression on my readers. Only I can make an impact with Storytelling Is An Art the way it should be done for my audience.
