We caught up with the brilliant and insightful JD Williams a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
JD , so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
When I was younger, my grandfather made me feel like I could do ANYTHING! He would tell me that whatever I put my mind to, I can do it! I’ve always thought very highly of myself. Whether if it was in a room full of people or by myself I’ve always thought that I was the best! There were people that may have tried to bring my self esteem and confidence down, but I always persevered in spite of!

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am JD of The Sunday Takeout! I provide hosting, promo/advertising, media coverage and interviews for artists, creatives, and small business owners in the DFW and beyond! I am also now booking bands for shows around the city!
I have an artist by the name of Mike Thomas from Baltimore, performing here at The Free Man on June 21st. I’ll also be doing vocals for a show in St. Louis in September

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Three qualities I possess are my personality, my knowledge of the creative industry, and my consistency!
My advice would be to always be willing to learn, be innovative, be consistent, and always give your best!

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
To always give my best at everything I do!
