We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jean Pierre Orrego Diaz a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Jean Pierre, thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?
I think we have to create everyday, even if we don´t have a real motivation. I know sometimes its almost imposible find inspiration, but in that darks moments or in those empty Spaces, always theres something to tell and make. Im writing now, and moved myself to the ocean, heres all I need and all the ispiration; the waves sound, the fishes, the birds, the silence and all I lived in this whole year is my reason to keep thinking and doing something every moment. I won´t lie, in moments I don´t know how rise myself from the floor, but all I have to tell is stronger than my pain.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
Im an actor who becomes on director and writer finding new ways to tell histories in Latinamerica. 10 years ago my real life start and never was the same again, fortunaly. I love to show other face from art and my biggest wish is everyone loves Colombia as I do, by the filmes, books, and everything I could make.
Im so glad for all I did and so exited for everything is coming in my career. In this moment we are editing my recent filme called “El Color de Tu Aire”, a history filmed on Argentina and Colombia, a love and farytale history with an unhappy ending, This proyect was made with local artist, students and people who want learn about acting. A crew with almost 30 members full of dreams and wishes to becomes in gratest artist who represents their countries.
Also, Im writing a book called 21/23, where I tell all the experiences I forged this year and how to be a sorvivor of a broken heart. I hope to the premiere for the book and movie could be next year at summer.
As a writer, I have a webside called www.jeanpi.com where I wrote every week about love, policy, life and everything I feel; there I show all who I am. There’s an espace where I can be free and no save nothing on my mind. Also in this webside theres all my proyects like shortfilmes, traillers, play and more.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I never give up and all the “no” I recived in the past, I transformer it in a new oportunity for me. I knock many doors and just a few was opened for me, of course I introduce all my body there and make that space the grattes place. Also I got a great ability to fit to every situation and location, I try always to make my home wherever I go and I think the most important thing in my life, is always be loyal to myself and take my own rules with me in every desicion, always the feet on the floor and the brain in the present.
Im so social and love to travel, thats a good oportunity to develope our character and give me a great hability to be comforble wherever I go. Talk and dance also are a good way to make new friends and creat in their good memories about me

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Im searching for people who want to be part of our movie, we need investors who believe on new ways to make art and we need people who want to give other oportunities for latinos in the whole world.
