Meet Jed Shlackman

We recently connected with Jed Shlackman and have shared our conversation below.

Jed, so great to be with you and I think a lot of folks are going to benefit from hearing your story and lessons and wisdom. Imposter Syndrome is something that we know how words to describe, but it’s something that has held people back forever and so we’re really interested to hear about your story and how you overcame imposter syndrome.

For myself I have evolved over the course of my life in how I form my own identity and sense of self. This has included a major shift from seeing myself as a human being subject to comparison to other people and the image or identity they project, to thinking of myself (and everyone else) as a spiritual being having a human experience. I have come to believe that as part of the Infinite Creative source I can access the skills and create the role for myself that I desire and believe in. Exploring spirituality and metaphysics and the role of our subconscious mind I have come to understand the fundamental role of beliefs in shaping our reality. When I have found myself questioning whether I am capable enough or worthy enough to achieve something or share my professional knowledge and skills with the public I try to uncover the roots of where the self-doubt or self-negation come from. Sometimes I realize that it has arisen from other people’s judgments and other times it may be my own tendency toward perfectionism and fear of making a mistake or being seen as flawed. I remind myself that everyone is unique and there is never perfection as a human just striving for self-improvement. I also remind myself that I am an extension of the same spiritual source as everyone else and if someone else can excel at something I can too if it is something important to me and my life path. I’ve stepped forward in my professional work to be open and authentic and sometimes not conform to what might appear as normal in my field. I have come to accept whatever may manifest as a result – whether pleasant or unpleasant, I recognize that it is all opportunities to learn and grow.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I work individually and with groups to support holistic health and personal transformation. I facilitate shifts in consciousness and energy using a variety of modalities, including energy healing, sound healing, hypnotherapy, counseling, coaching, and teaching. I often facilitate meditation group events and teach Reiki healing certification classes, and share hundreds of sound meditation sessions and educational videos on holistic health and spiritual and psychological topics via my channels on multiple video platforms. Clients experience many rapid shifts and healing outcomes from both individual therapy sessions and from participating in group events. I truly enjoy learning from the experiences I have with clients, observing and feeling shifts in energy. I make resources available for those who are seeking healing and growth in their lives and assist people from all walks of life and backgrounds who feel ready to work with the resources I share.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

The desire to provide something to support the well-being of others has always guided my career. Learning about health from a holistic, multidimensional perspective has been of great value also since it helps me be more flexible and thorough in how I support clients. A third key to my journey has been commitment to my spiritual development and remembering that I am not alone and there are always sources of guidance and inspiration that I can access if and when I may feel overwhelmed, uncertain, or disappointed. I would encourage anyone to build clarity of purpose and intention, to feel their own value and worth, and appreciate their connection to a greater spiritual essence or intelligence while enjoying playing the role of a human being with all the challenges that are encountered in the game of life.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

I would be happy to collaborate with people who have similar intentions and visions for fostering the health and human potential of people we can support. I would work well with people who complement me in some way, such as those who are dynamic and very extroverted (as I tend to be more laid back and reserved and would like to have a person who catalyzes my more vocal and bold side). People who are good listeners and like to exchange ideas and mutually expand perspectives would be enjoyable to partner with. I would also be interested in collaborating with people who can build bridges between science and spirituality, between people who are focused more on the tangible material realm and those who are focused more on the realm of consciousness and intuition and variables that are not as readily measured or quantified.
