Jeff , we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
MY MOM AND THIS SPOT CALLED MARILLAC HOUSE!!!! First my mom. My mom is strong black woman she made it happen off a 9th grade education and showed me that through GOD ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE IF U BELIEVE! Second i went to a place called marillac house on the west side and that place change my life it showed me that i have no limits and we can do and be anything even president our teachers we the best and they made sure we do Everything we can to be a success story

 

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I’m a dj producer and teacher! Been DJing for almost 30 years! DJing through GOD HAS OPEN PRETTY MUCH EVERY DOOR FOR ME the production aspect and also the teaching aspect as well! At one point of my life I’ve always wanted to top 10 or 5 but for me the teaching now is to give the next generation a chance to be greater and bigger than me show them that anything is possible! I HAVE A LABEL CALLED ILL AMERIKAH I HAVE A LOT OF PROJECTS UNDER MY BELT but the 2 that coming is my sister and ace DANIELLE WITH A PROJECT CALLED SUPREME EXCELLENCE WHICH IM TRULY PROUD AND NQYA WITH THE SOULILIQUY REMIX PROJECT!!!! Also I’m working on a beat tape for volume 3 called i am the VIBE!!!! IN 25 I’ll be get ready for late nite experience 3 EVERYBODY KNOWS JDI AS WELL DJING WISE WE A NYE AT THE WILLIS TOWER SO IM LOOKING FORWARD TO THAT AS WELL

 

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The 3 areas that is impactful for me is MAKE SURE YOUR HONOR YOUR GIFT AND ACKNOWLEDGE GOD FIRST , second UNDERSTAND ALL FORMS OF MUSIC AND NOT BE AFRAID OF PLAYING OUTSIDE YOUR COMFORT ZONE AND 3rd REMEMBER THAT THIS IS A CUSTOMER DRIVING BUSINESS BE NICE COURTEOUS AND RESPECTFUL!!! The best advice is to stay positive and optimistic, BELIEVE IT AND NEVER GIVE UP!!!! 1st i know that all thing sound cliche but let’s start with the first staying positive, YOUR FAITH ESPECIALLY IN GOD CAN OPEN DOORS AND HELPS ON THE BEATING PATH TO SUCCESS WHEN U START it’s get better and with great creativity it’s takes work to perfected your craft greatness dosent come overnight and if it did it will be easy come easy go so stay on task and on path. Second the believe part. When i started i knew at 16 that I’ve always wanted to do something that i loved for my life’s work and I’m doing it but i had to believe and work it even in the journey you will have to work a 9 to 5 to get there and you will get there promise u u can’t give up even when the business is fickle and trust it gets fickle u have stay the course!!! One thing i know if is through GOD HE WILL MAKE U NEVER BECAUSE U GIFT WILL MAKE ROOM FOR U

 

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
Recently my mom celebrated 83 years on the planet earth and last year she said something that BLESSED ME TO THIS DAY ONE OF MY AUNTS ASK HER BE BEING SINGLE AND MY MOM SAYS…..GET LOST now when i heard that I WAS LIKE WOW MANY OF US ARE AFRAID OF JUST LOSING YOURSELF AND IN ORDER TO BE FREE YOU HAVE LOSE YOURSELF AND ENJOY THIS LIFE LET YOURSELF GO
