Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jeff Jones. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Jeff, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
I honestly get my resilience from my Mother, God rest her soul. Anytime we had hardships as I was growing up, she always found a way to make it happen especially when losing my father at 15. I guess you could say that my life’s experiences has built my resilience to an all time high with the people I’ve lost as well.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
By day I am an 8th grade Health Teacher and football & basketball coach. By night, I am a music producer/song writer that also acts as an artist under the stage name Uncle Jeff. The most exciting part about teaching/coaching is seeing my current and former students grow into great individuals. The best part about being a producer/artist is that I am independent and I enjoy the fact that I can move on my time. With that being said, I enjoy the process of every song I create.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
1. Is the ability to listen 2. The ability to play the piano 3. The ability to apply
The best advice I can give someone is to know that when you take a “L” it’s never a loss. It’s always a lesson. You simply learn what works and what don’t. Also pay attention to the mistakes of people around you and don’t make those same mistakes especially if it left that person in an unfavorable situation. Lastly, love everyone.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Yes! I am always looking for great singers, rappers, and musicians to collaborate with! Rather it be to do a cover of a song with our own twist to it or to actually create a song from scratch together to release on streaming platforms. My old instagram got hacked so I am in the process of trying to get that rebuilt and any kind of exposure or connections to different audiences will help.
