We recently connected with Jeff Robbins and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Jeff, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

I found my purpose by taking the time to reflect on my core values and how they align with creating a better world for future generations. My journey began as a beach lifeguard, where I witnessed firsthand the impact of human activities on ocean pollution. This experience sparked my interest in environmental sustainability. Later, working in healthcare, I saw the critical connection between our diet, lifestyle, and overall health.

These insights led me to organic gardening, where I founded Revolution Landscape (www.revolutionlandscape.com). Here, I discovered the joy of growing food in urban environments and reconnecting people with the origins of their food. This passion for sustainability continued as I developed Instant Plant Food (www.instantplantfood.com), a self-dissolving fertilizer that reduces plastic waste and carbon emissions.

My latest venture, Drinklits (www.drinklits.com), introduces self-dissolving electrolyte tablets, making hydration both easy and eco-friendly. Through these endeavors, I’ve realized that my purpose is interwoven with my professional pursuits—each step driven by a desire to promote health and sustainability. My purpose has guided my pursuits, and in turn, my pursuits have continually shaped and reaffirmed my purpose.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, the three most impactful qualities in my journey have been a strong work ethic, a clear understanding of my purpose, and a commitment to developing a supportive community.

1. Work Ethic: Dedication and perseverance have been crucial in navigating challenges and achieving goals. For those early in their journey, my advice is to stay consistent and disciplined. Hard work and persistence are the foundations of success.

2. Understanding Purpose: Knowing my purpose has provided direction and motivation. To develop this, take time to reflect on your core values and passions. Align your actions with what truly matters to you, and let that guide your decisions and drive.

3. Developing Community: Building a network of supportive, like-minded individuals has been invaluable. Surround yourself with people who inspire and uplift you. Actively seek out mentors, peers, collaborators, and CUSTOMERS who share your vision and values. This community will be your source of encouragement, guidance, and growth.
