Meet Jelisha Jones

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jelisha Jones. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Jelisha, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
Creativity isn’t something that can be controlled or forced. It’s like the wind. Free. Flowing. Constantly moving. I’ve tried to force my creativity in the past – force stories, projects, collaborations, or events – and they were always missing that “thing”.

It’s when I’m simply living life, having human experiences…being in the moment that the little nudge of creativity strikes me unexpectedly. Words flow from me. Ideas surround me. And this is when I know that “thing” has come – the magic, the divinity, the authenticity.

This past year, I had been writing, trying to create a story out of nothing but I couldn’t finish what I started. I couldn’t get through the hump. It wasn’t until I had an experience with an old friend that I felt the nudge – the urge to write -and within days, I had completed my third book.

That wasn’t me controlling my art. That’s was me surrendering to my art.

That’s how you thrive in your creativity. You don’t force. You surrender.

You don’t suffocate yourself through the process. You have to learn to listen when that “thing” finds you, and to act accordingly before it leaves you because trust me, it will leave you if you choose to do nothing with it.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am a self-love coach, author, spiritual teacher and inspirational speaker; I help empower women to shift from their limiting beliefs that may hold them back into aligning to their authenticity, their power and their truth.

I believe that if more women and young girls know how powerful they truly are, we can cause a major shift in the world that we live in but it begins with how we feel about ourselves. The world needs more love and compassion…that’s the essence of who we are as women. The world needs us.

My latest ebook, “F*ck Shame, Embrace Love!”  is out now on Amazon; it is a 4-Step guide on how to heal from heartbreak and become whole again.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The best quality that I’ve learned, and I’m still perfecting on my journey is to trust yourself completely!

No one else can see the vision that’s been given to you. No one else has your dreams, your desires or your goals. They are yours for a reason. If you are always seeking answers outside of yourself, you will never be fulfilled…you will be continuously searching, pleasing and needing more from others. Nothing will ever be enough.

Everything you need to know about what you need to do on your journey, where you need to go, the steps you need to take…is already within you. It’s learning to trust your intuition above anyone and anything else. It will never leave you astray.

If you trust yourself, everything else will fall in line.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I would love to collaborate with women who are actively helping to empower and inspire women to become their best selves! Maybe you’re an author, or speaker, or healer, or teacher…if you are pouring love into others, I would love to connect with you to grow because we can do wonders if there is a tribe of us!
