We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jen Cadet. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jen below.
Jen, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
Developing my confidence and self-esteem has been a journey shaped by a few key experiences. Firstly, I had to learn and practice self-compassion. Putting effort into treating myself with kindness during setbacks and repeating positive affirmations helped foster a healthier relationship with myself. This combination of strategies has helped me cultivate a more confident and resilient mindset over time.
Additionally, I embraced challenges as opportunities for growth rather than threats. Each time I stepped outside my comfort zone, I gained more self-assurance.
Lastly, surrounding myself with supportive people who encouraged me and believed in my potential played a crucial role. Their positivity helped me see my own strengths.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’m known by many as “Jen of All Trades.” As a New York State Certified Marriage Officiant, I have a deep passion for love, relationships, and connecting with like-minded individuals who wish to cultivate positive interactions. With an deep seeded entrepreneurial spirit, I have dedicated the last 10 years to building a legacy for myself and my family outside of the traditional 9-to-5 job.
In addition to my officiant role, my diverse background has enriched my current work. I have experience in the marketing field as a public relations consultant, and I’ve thrived in the bridal industry through sales and event planning. With over a decade of experience across these various platforms, I bring a wealth of knowledge to every interaction I encounter. My commitment to my clients’ happiness is at the core of everything I do, and I take pride in truly listening to their desires and needs to create unforgettable experiences.
Looking ahead, I plan to pursue a counseling certificate to enhance the services I offer as an officiant. I firmly believe in the value of pre-marriage counseling, which can significantly contribute to the longevity of my couples’ relationships.
It would be my honor to unite two people in love or guide them through their real estate journey. I take pride in being part of these major life decisions and supporting people as they embark on their beautiful adventures.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Reflecting on my journey as a wedding officiant, three qualities that have been especially impactful are empathy, adaptability, and strong communication skills.
Empathy allows me to connect deeply with couples, understanding their unique stories and emotions on such a significant day. To develop empathy, I recommend actively listening to others, practicing mindfulness, and putting yourself in their shoes. This will help you appreciate different perspectives and forge genuine connections.
Adaptability is crucial in this role, as every wedding is unique and different, it’s important to adapt to each couple’s wedding style to create meaningful ceremonies.
Lastly, strong communication skills are essential for clearly conveying messages.
For those just starting on their journey, I encourage you to focus on these qualities daily. Surround yourself with supportive mentors, immerse yourself in the wedding community, and keep learning. Each interaction is an opportunity for growth, so embrace it! Remember, your authenticity and dedication to your craft will shine through, creating beautiful moments for the couples you serve.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Absolutely! I’m always on the lookout for creative and passionate individuals to collaborate with. I believe that the wedding journey is a collective effort, and partnering with others can elevate the experience for couples.
I’m particularly interested in connecting with photographers, florists, wedding planners, DJ’s and even caterers. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just starting out, if you bring enthusiasm and a commitment to making every wedding unique, I’d love to hear from you!
If you’re a vendor who values collaboration and wants to explore ways we can work together—perhaps to offer joint packages or create themed events—let’s chat! You can connect with me on social media. I’m excited to brainstorm ideas, share insights, and create beautiful experiences for couples together!
