Meet Jen Sall

We recently connected with Jen Sall and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Jen, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
I am not sure where exactly it originates but I can say if you don’t have it probably best not to work in Entertainment. Resilience above all is what is needed to keep going in Entertainment.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am an award-winning writer and producer committed to creative work that is thought-provoking and sparks conversation across film, television, and digital media. My experience spans the visual storytelling spectrum – from branded films to scripted to documentary. I’ve worked with Apple, Calvin Klein, Disney, HBO, Hello Sunshine, HULU, Netflix and Viacom, among other prestigious brands and studios.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I would say showing up and follow through are paramount. The one area, looking back I think is crucial is building and maintain relationships along the way. And this means keeping in contact with these people not only connecting when you need or want something.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
When I feel overwhelmed the first thing I do is try and move my body. Over the years I’ve come to learn the best way to settle down is to get out in nature, exercise, take a class, give myself time to ground.
