Meet Jenn Friedline

We recently connected with Jenn Friedline and have shared our conversation below.

Jenn, so good to have you with us today. We’ve got so much planned, so let’s jump right into it. We live in such a diverse world, and in many ways the world is getting better and more understanding but it’s far from perfect. There are so many times where folks find themselves in rooms or situations where they are the only ones that look like them – that might mean being the only woman of color in the room or the only person who grew up in a certain environment etc. Can you talk to us about how you’ve managed to thrive even in situations where you were the only one in the room?

I grew up in a family that was business minded. My Mother was an Active Rotarian. When I started my own business, I knew the impact of in person networking and marketing. Dog training is not regulated, and is still not thought of as a viable career option. In addition, the training industry is very divided. For these reasons, I knew that I had to get out in traditional business circles to expose other business owners to ethical and humane Training options. Not only does it help to grow my business, but it allows others in the industry to do the same.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I am owner of Jenn’s Dogs LLC, a training and behavior modification facility in Forest Grove OR. At the Jenn’s Dogs Training Studio, our trainers offer group and private sessions for Puppy Life Skills, Basic Manners and beyond. I specialize in behavior modification for aggression and reactivity, and offer in home and virtual training. We focus on helping the family dog, and teach guardians how to develop clear, compassionate communication with their canine companions. We have recently expanded out virtual options to include virtual group classes as well.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

For me, I think my 3 important qualities and skills come naturally: Ability to talk to anyone, implementation and connectivity. These skills are sometimes difficult for others. I think everyone has three unique abilities, and the best thing to do is to play on your strengths. As an entrepreneur – discover what you do best and run with it. Everyone has a talent that is unique to them, and that is what sets them apart from the crowd.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

I am always looking for people to collaborate with! I am looking for innovative people in all industries who have an interest in dogs. I sure we can find some way to blend our fields. In general, I am especially interested in others in the Pet industry. I do not even try to do everything, and am happy to refer out when needed. Please send me an email to [email protected] and introduce yourself!
