Meet Jenn Levin

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jenn Levin. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Jenn, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
There is no question that my self confidence was instilled in my subconscious mind from having loving parents. When you grow up being told AND showed that you are loved and safe the foundation of your self esteem will be strong. I was blessed with parents who always made me feel love, supported and safe. As challenges came up throughout my life, whether it be a mean teacher, a judgmental friend or a rejection letter for the latest musical I auditioned for I was hurt but felt supported and safe to feel that pain and grow from it. It was this strong, fundamental foundation, that allowed me the bravery to take risks, fall and get back up again that build my self confidence.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
As a hypnotherapist in Los Angeles, CA I get to help people reprogram their subconscious minds to build their confidence and self-esteem. Not everyone is lucky enough to grow up in a safe and loving environment. The reality is that many children grow up in households where they may absorb energies of generational shame, lack, confusion, self doubt, anxiety and so many other limiting beliefs. Our personal environments, experiences and messages from the people we grow up around have a huge impact on our subconscious programming that impacts how we move through the rest of our lives.

As a hypnotherapist, I am able to help people heal from their past, and re-write their subconscious beliefs to propel them towards a life of fulfillment, love and happiness.

I work with writers, creatives, and entrepreneurs to help them get out of their own way, releasing their mental blocks and fears so they can make more money, improve their health and love their love lives.

I also lead community hypnosis workshops. I love to educate people all over Los Angeles & across the globe on how hypnosis works. I help people begin to look at their beliefs and give them hope that they can rewrite their patterns of beliefs to be more aligned with their adult self.

I am not a hypnotist who performs or puts on a show, but am a hypnotherapist that helps you uncover your subconscious blocks so we can release them through hypnotherapy.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The three skills that I feel were most impactful in my journey are my:

-Passion
-Curiosity
-Strong work ethic

My advice to those who may be looking for career clarity is to first get really curious to better understand yourself, What do you love and what comes really naturally to you? You want to set yourself up for success, so lean into your natural abilities and talents. If you are not sure, then have fun exploring your world and open your mind and heart to try new things. Sometimes we think we know what we want but it’s not until we actually do it that we discover it’s not a good fit for us.

Growing up I wanted to be a Broadway star. Then I did summer stock theatre and realized that doing the same show over and over and over again for a month got kind of boring and repetitive after awhile. I love diversity and something new to do everyday. So then I pursued my dream of being a TV producer, which allowed me to create a whole new show every week! And after doing that for 10 years I realized, I was having to sacrifice too much of my personal life for my work. So that’s when I finally discovered hypnotherapy as a career. It comes very naturally to me and allows me the freedom to exercise, pick up my kids from school, take vacations and feel connected to others and my community.

Once you know what you are passionate about. Talk to people who work in that field. Be curious! Find out what their day is like. What are the perks? What are their biggest challenges? How did they get to where they are in their careers? Ask a lot of questions to better understand the reality of working in the field you are considering.

Self confidence comes from putting in the work and overcoming the challenges that arise along the way. No one is confident the first time they do something. It is through bravery and trust that we keep going even when it feels uncomfortable. This is the work ethic I am talking about. Not giving up when it gets hard. And examining, is this hard because I it’s new and I am scared and still learning? Or is this hard because it’s really not a good fit for me and my skill set?

Self esteem and confidence are built when we put in the work and are able to preserve through challenges.

I can remember when I participated in Girl’s State representing my class for a mock government. Oh man I must have put myself out there to “get elected” 13 times and not once did I get voted in for a position. I was disappointed my peers didn’t elect me but at the end of the weekend conference, I was given an award. My attitude of ‘never give up’ didn’t go unnoticed. And despite all the rejection I got that weekend, my confidence grew because I learned that even when you “fall/fail/don’t win” you can trust you will still be ok. And the act of perseverance holds an important value too.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I am always looking for people to collaborate with! If you have a group or community who you think would be interested in a customized hypnosis workshop I’d love to connect with you! Examples of past workshops include:

Hypnosis for the Caregiver

I often collaborate with a sound healer/breath work facilitator who plays sound bowls to help deepen the hypnosis experience so guests leave feeling like they are floating on clouds. It’s such a beautiful stress reliever and powerful team builder. I have collaborated with Netflix, private health clubs, Soho House, mom’s groups, Heart Broken Anonymous and lead workshops for community wellness events..
