We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jenna Boyer. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jenna below.
Jenna, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
Both of my parents are entrepreneurs so I saw from a young age what hard work and dedication can do. They were both successful in their own right and together in business. I did see the ups and downs but I saw them keep going and each doing what they loved.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am a personal brand photographer for mompreneurs and women owned businesses. Occasionally a male comes along and if we vibe I wont turn him down but I’m mostly resonating with the women who are looking to build a dream life where they have the freedom to be with their children and own a successful company. We work on building a strong personal brand and bring it to life through authentic brand images. I’m working on building up my Brand Therapy program where I work 1:1 with women who want to go deeper in to their mindset work, understanding their personal brand and what it can do and reaching their ideal clients.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I think mindset is the most important. Whatever you believe is true. I believed I was capable of great things and accomplishing big goals. Even when I didn’t know everything I didn’t let that stop me. I think learning by doing is a strength I have and I’m not afraid to take risks. I would recommend someone just starting out to work on their mindset first. Understand your limiting beliefs and where they’re holding you back. Then just go for it. Do the work. Knowing every part of your business is a great thing and finding success after putting in the work gives you confidence in yourself to keep going when times get tough.
Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?
Big Magic. Hands down. I recommend it to everyone. You truly realize that when you have an idea you need to act. You have that thought for a reason. It’s specific to you and came to you for you to bring it to life.
