Meet Jenna-mae White

We recently connected with Jenna-mae White and have shared our conversation below.

Jenna-mae, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?

I love what I do, and that’s what keeps me going, no matter how many rejections come my way. Every audition, every performance, every “no” feels like a step closer to the right “yes.” It’s not just about landing the role—it’s about the process, the growth, and the joy of creating something real, even if it’s just for a moment. Each rejection is a lesson, a chance to refine my craft, and a reminder that I’m exactly where I need to be. I’m not afraid of the “no’s” because they’re just part of the journey, and with each one, I feel like I’m getting closer to where I’m meant to be.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I’ve been non-stop lately, juggling some amazing projects as an actor. I’ve worked on fashion campaigns for AALYN, YSL, and Rosebibi, which has been an incredible creative outlet. On top of that, I host *The British Tea Party Podcast*, which is really taking off—catch it on Spotify, Apple Music, and other streaming platforms. I’m also diving back into my love for musical theatre—recently, I performed at the Dream Role Cabaret at The Loft Ensemble, and the experience reignited my passion for the stage. There’s always something going on, and I’m loving every minute of it as I continue to push myself in new directions!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

As an actor, I’ve learned that resilience, creativity, and determination are the three key skills that drive me forward. Resilience is about bouncing back after rejection or failure—because let’s face it, we all face setbacks. But it’s how you respond that counts. Creativity keeps me grounded in the art, helping me stay inspired and push boundaries even when things feel repetitive or tough. And determination? That’s what gets me through the long hours, the hard auditions, and the times when it feels like nothing is happening. Those three traits—resilience, creativity, and determination—are the foundation that keeps me moving in the right direction. To young actors: Don’t expect things to happen overnight, and don’t let the tough moments break you. Every “no” is just one step closer to a “yes,” and every challenge is an opportunity to grow. Keep showing up, keep creating, and most importantly—keep believing in yourself.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?

My parents have always been my biggest supporters, encouraging my creativity from a very young age. They never once told me I couldn’t do something; if I showed interest, they made sure I had the chance to explore it. They drove me to every acting, dancing, and singing class, and were always there to watch every show I performed in, cheering me on no matter what. Without their unwavering support and belief in me, I wouldn’t have had the courage to move to Los Angeles at 18 to pursue my dreams. They’ve been my foundation, always pushing me to chase my passions and never give up, and I truly wouldn’t be where I am today without them.
