Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jenni Kuhle. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jenni, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
For a long time, my resilience, which i like to playfully refer to as Stubborn Determination, stemmed from a more negative self talk and my unwillingness to let others down by failing or to live in being a slave to self disgust. In more recent years, that has evolved through mindfully improving my self talk to be more goal focused and success driven. So, what once was an internal dialog such as “if i don’t succeed at this, I’ll let a loved one down and be disappointed in myself” has become more of a “I always succeed when I stay the course, and success in this is a necessary step to achieving a more rewarding long term goal.”

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I have 2 businesses based around the 2 things I’m most passionate about. My goal is to live and earn money in a space that rewards my spirit, which includes helping people and honoring my need for artistic self expression.
One of my businesses, Mindful Moves Wellness, is significant to the extrovert side of me, who loves working with and helping people. Primarily, I aspire to give knowledge, guidance and companionship to those who have movement limitations, anxiety about getting involved with exercise or outdoor activities and those who aren’t sure how to eat healthily and sustainably. I work primarily with seniors and people who are too anxious to get themselves involved in group or public settings. I’m certified as a corrective exercise trainer, a nutrition coach and an herbalist. My belief of that health and healing are strongly supported through these natural and holistic practices.
My other business, I Do WishCraft, is inspired by the introverted side of me, who make bizarre and unique crafts and thoroughly enjoys invention in the kitchen. Initially, I offered a cake decorating service and found that I was quite talented at taking a custom cake request to a higher level that expectation. However, As I studied more and more about nutrition, specifically food allergies and aversions, I became fascinated with learning how to make the same yummy cakes and cookies in alignment with accommodation of those growing needs in our population and in my own home.
I bundled these culinary offerings into my creative business and included my unique craft products, which are all inventions of my imagination. For instance, working in the Hospitality industry, I saw that tip jars were usually either really plain or messily personalized with stickers. So, I thought that I could decorate jars that would speak to the individual and look really nice on a counter on display. A second item i make was inspird by being a woman, and finding that women’s clothing often lacked sufficient pockets. I decided that I would create another unique product. My scrap patches are iron on pockets, and custom decorated with flare. This craft also accommodates my desire to live a lifestyle that supports sustainability. So, I use upcycled material from old clothing and discarded textiles, stitch a design from the material into a patch and add an iron on material to the back.
My product line will continue to grow to include macrame and wired wrapped art, as well as a line of cookies I’m working on to offer nutrient dense, allergen/aversion accommodating, and chakra aligning ingredient profiles. My website is nearing completion to include online ordering and I’m making strides in selling my products in my community on a small scale currently.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
As I reflect on why I’m adamantly paving my way as an entrepreneur, I believe there are a few personal attributes that made a significant impact on helping me get here. One of my primary personal qualities is that I am I curious, with a fascination with learning anything and everything that I can, but with a unique and creative perspective. Specifically, I found a profound interest in the human body as it relates to illness and aging, and dug into the angle of holistic practices, such as exercise, healthy food, positive mindset and herbal usages as preventative and health maintenence medicine. So I sought to gain a much knowledge as much as I could about these modalities. As I learned more and became more curious, I realized that I had value to offer to others while also recognizing that I was missing out on living a life, and having a career, that was aligned with the things in passionate about. So, determined and stubborn, I made the decision to pivot, at times taking a complete leap of faith, to build a new career following those passions. My advice to anyone who is making those kinds of decisions to journey into a life that is aligned with their passion is to stay the course! Believe in yourself and what the universe has in store for a future that is truly. And respect the challenges that you’ll face. Lean into those with curiosity, creativity and stubborn determination!

All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?
Recognizing that my old way of life related to financial gain and security must be remained in order to keep the for open to success in my personal endeavor has been my biggest challenge. I’m accustomed to working for other people’s businesses to secure a reliable paycheck to sustain income and provide my family’s basic needs. In order to succeed as an entrepreneur, I’ve had to develop a new mindset around planning and securing my income by learning as much as I can about business development, strategic planning and the specific tools that track the costs and revenue potential for my businesses. And as I’ve met income roadblocks, I’ve remained creative and curious about what new angles are available for continued revenue gain, always willing to try something different, work harder and dig deeper into deveined of the ideas that I am confident will be valuable to the clients that need my services.
