Meet Jennifer Cerda

We recently connected with Jennifer Cerda and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Jennifer, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

I get my work ethic from my uncle and my mom. My uncle has always been a big part of my life he showed me professionalism, good manners, and the value of hard work. My mom was a true hustler, always finding ways to bring money to the table and take care of her family. They’ve also shown me that commitment and generosity can take you far. I admire how successful they are, and their example motivates me to keep growing and use the strengths I’ve learned from them to win in life

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I’m a licensed esthetician based in Richardson, TX, your Latina glow expert and sugaring specialist. My passion is helping people feel confident in their own skin. Growing up, I struggled with acne and other skin issues, so it’s become my goal to help others through their own journey. At Casa Beauty Spa, we laugh, share stories, and build real client friendships while taking care of your skin.

This past year has been so exciting for me I’ve grown so much, and my focus has been on introducing more people to the world of advanced skincare. I love showing clients that there’s so much more out there than just what your tía told you to try. Here, you can feel comfortable opening up about your skin concerns while enjoying a spa experience that feels like home…CASA. Picture a relaxing evening with your favorite guitar and rain playlist or banda music in the background… all while getting a facial or a brazilian!

Looking ahead, I want to keep growing Casa Beauty Spa and give even more people the chance to experience what true luxury self care feels like. My dream is to expand and reach people who may have never had the opportunity before because too often, other places don’t cater to our culture, our community, or our comfort. Casa Beauty Spa is here to change that.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Empathy, compassion, and customer service are the three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey.

In this industry, empathy is a must. You have to understand your clients insecurities and be willing to put yourself in their shoes. It takes humility to listen, relate, and really guide someone through their skin journey.

Compassion is another quality I value deeply. I will always choose kindness and professionalism when helping others achieve their goals. Skin issues don’t appear overnight, and I remind my clients to give themselves grace. I treat everyone with softness and patience, so they can feel good energy and leave the spa with positive vibes.

And finally, customer service, this is what I do best! I want every client to feel welcome and cared for. From the moment they walk in, the room is ready, cozy, and tailored just for them. I’m very detail oriented, and my goal is to always create a memorable, enjoyable experience.

My advice to others starting out, always treat clients how you would want to be treated. Create a safe, judgment free space, stay humble, and remember our role is to help others. And don’t forget to have fun while you’re doing it!

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?

Ooh, this one is deep! In our field, we deal with so much energy. Most of the time it’s good, but let’s be real we also act like therapists sometimes. Clients vent, share struggles, and bring all types of emotions. We absorb that, and it can definitely feel overwhelming at times.

What helps me is shifting into a mindset of gratitude. I remind myself that I once prayed for this life. Yes, it gets hard, but I’m living an answered prayer. That perspective helps me release the energy that doesn’t belong to me.

At the end of the day, I go home, take a hot shower, put on some music, hug my babies, and thank God. Owning a business can be overwhelming some days are slow, some are non stop but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I love what I do.

My advice, find your grounding practices and always come back to gratitude. Be thankful! A positive mindset makes all the difference when those overwhelming feelings creep in. Take breaks, get away when you can, find hobbies and most importantly breathe and let go! We are in control of our emotions. Have faith that everything will work out in your favor.
