We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jennifer Gallentine. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jennifer below.
Hi Jennifer, so great to have you on the platform. There’s so much we want to ask you, but let’s start with the topic of self-care. Do you do anything for self-care and if so, do you think it’s had a meaningful impact on your effectiveness?
I have to make sure I set time aside for myself daily, quiet time for reflection and prayer, to convene with nature, enjoy the sunshine and do some meditative grounding. It all keeps me sane in a world and industry that can be so chaotic.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I have been ethically breeding for 23 years, almost 1/2 of my adult life. We primarily focus on bringing healthy, naturally reared French bulldogs to families all over Tennessee. We limit our use of chemicals in our environment and on our puppies themselves, and offer education and resources for the life of that new fur baby, so they have the best start to their lives and live as healthy as possible. We are constantly learning new things that we can apply to giving the best possible care to our dogs and puppies that we then pass onto our families with our lifetime knowledge and support that we offer.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I feel like the most impactful skill I acquired was from my background in dentistry and the medical field, but to then take that a step further and to train in herbalism, homeopathy and pet nutrition and how we can help ourselves and our pets live better lives. For people that may be early on in their journey, the best advice I can give is to never stop learning. To feel like you know everything there is in this life is the biggest mistake someone can make, because learning is truly never ending.
Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
I consider my ideal client to be someone with an open mind, willing to learn new things, that keeps an open line of communication and contact. I love getting updates from my puppy families, I love hearing how their babies are doing, and I love being able to offer advice, guidance and my knowledge from over the years so that they can enjoy every moment with their new babies for years to come.
