Meet Jennifer Harris

We were lucky to catch up with Jennifer Harris recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Jennifer, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

In 2018, our family experienced back-to-back loss—family members passed away and family homes were flooded and/or damaged, some beyond repair, due to Hurricane Florence. During those times of grief and uncertainty, I witnessed an unwavering faith in God. As a woman, single mother and business owner, I face moments of uncertainty. I think back to that year, when so much transpired. God was faithful. His plan is always better than our own. He’s able to do exceedlingly abundantly above anything I can think or ask. On my journey, I’ve watched God do just that!

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

My services include some traditional massages such as Swedish, Deep Tissue, Himalayan Hot Stone, Pregnancy and Cupping. I proudly serve those who served our country as a Zeel Medical Massage Provider for veterans. My clients may be looking for improvements in relaxation, ROM, pain, tension along with a number of conditions. The newest addition to my practice is a Sunlighten mPulse Smart Sauna that has the following benefits backed by clinical studies: detoxification, weight loss, heart health, anti-aging, muscle recovery, and immunity.

My daily goal is to transform lives(mind, body and spirit) through massage therapy. There’s not a one size fits all plan. Customizing treatments based on individual needs is paramount.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

My top three would be:

1) Receptivity
2) Being purpose-driven
3) Openness to learning

I believe that those seeking personal or professional growth should surround themselves with people who encourage and exemplify the qualities they aim to develop.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?

When I feel overwhelmed, I embrace moments of solitude that allow me to recharge and decompress. Solitude, for me, includes celebrating victories or goals met, exercising, listening to worship music or journaling.
