Meet Jennifer Jane Young Young

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jennifer Jane Young Young. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jennifer Jane Young below.

Jennifer Jane Young, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.

My confidence and self-esteem have been developed and strengthened through taking action and just trying things. What I’ve learned over my life is that we can never know what we are truly made of unless we take action and have the opportunity to take risks and experiment. I have always gotten clarity by taking steps forward.

I became a confident entrepreneur by putting myself out there in the world, taking imperfect action and course-correcting along the way.

I took a leap to live my dream life in Mexico and built confidence in the process by actually going to Mexico, being in the culture, learning the language and working through the discomfort.

So many people live their dreams in their heads and get stuck in analysis paralysis and end up not taking any action. No growth, learning or expansion can happen that way.

Today I teach people how to say yes to their yes, trust their gut and take the leaps by focusing on taking one step/action at a time. That one action will then unfold into a next and then a next. This is how we discover who we are and the potential available inside of us.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

For a long time, I felt like I was floating through life without a sense of direction. I feared never finding my path. I struggled deeply with anxiety and never quite fit into traditional systems, whether it was school or conventional jobs. I was constantly searching for a place where I somehow fit in, but everything around me seemed to say I didn’t belong. Feeling so lost was painful and scary.

Everything shifted when I discovered entrepreneurship. It felt like I was finally given permission to create my own path, and honestly, I think it saved me. Being able to build something from my intuition and natural abilities gave me a sense of purpose and belonging I’d never experienced before.

Over the years, my work has evolved from being a yoga teacher to coaching and consulting for creative, heart-centred entrepreneurs and leaders. Today, I support people in aligning their lives intuitively, unlocking their full potential, and designing businesses and lives that feel deeply fulfilling. It’s not just a job, it’s the expression of who I truly am and where I came from. That’s what I’m most focused on now: helping others say yes to their unique path and make an impact by being fully themselves. I do this work through coaching, speaking, retreats in Mexico and Canada and other transformational experiences.

My book “Say Yes to Your YES: How to Trust Your Gut and Take the Leap” is leading the way right now and has become a movement that is transforming lives globally.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

I think the three qualities that have made the biggest impact on my journey are courage, curiosity, and resilience.

To pave my own path, I had to keep finding the courage to follow my curiosity, because that curiosity was always connected to where my intuition was nudging me. And once I trusted that inner pull and took the leap, resilience became essential to not giving up.

These aren’t pre-paved paths with guarantees that we’re taking when we follow our intuition. We’re creating something new, often stepping into the unknown, which means things can get messy. I talk a lot about the messy middle in my work. Those in-between moments that require flexibility and grace instead of shame or self-judgment. When we step outside of our comfort zone, we are stepping into our growth zone. That’s where the magic of life happens.

For those just starting out: have the courage to follow your curiosity, and trust your intuition along the way. Don’t worry about having the full plan. What I teach is that it’s always and only about that one next intuitive step. That’s all you need to know. We can plan years ahead, but often it’s wasted energy, because every single step changes the course. All those small, intentional, intuitive steps compound over time, and before you know it, you’ve created a life that feels truly aligned.
That’s how I ended up here. Every small “yes” led to this reality I’m living today.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?

One of the books that had the biggest impact on my life was The Not-So-Big Life: Making Room for What Really Matters by Sarah Susanka. I was studying Interior Design at the time and I was inspired by Sarah because she was an architect. I read her book just as I was starting to pave my path, and it completely shifted how I viewed lifestyle design. The book helped me understand that I could intentionally create a life rooted in what I truly value by essentially being the architect of my life. It gave me permission to design my life my way. Sarah’s message about simplifying and making space for what really matters inspired me to dream big and start building a life that reflected that dream.
