We were lucky to catch up with Jennifer Land recently and have shared our conversation below.
Jennifer, so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?
I love the whimsy and small pleasures in life. Once I worked through and released the overabundance of a lot of my negative emotions and figured out how to balance my life in simple, but effective, ways, I was able to really start digging into that almost child-like side of myself again.
I love to have moments of mindfulness and find things to appreciate. For example, every time I take my youngest kids to the park, we look for cool rocks and usually end up taking one home. If I’m stressed, sometimes I’ll close my eyes and think about all of the different sounds that I hear. If I need a quick pick-me-up, I might sniff a deliciously-scented candle or lotion. I also make it a point to soak in the sun at least once a day and go for a walk a few times a week.
Living my life looking for the good helps me to actually SEE the good that is already there, around me all the time. It seems to attract even more good, too!
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I help folks get in touch with their inner power to create huge, lasting changes and I love what I do! More specifically, I am a transformational healing coach and hypnosis practitioner.
I have a one-on-one 90-day coaching program to help women who feel like they are juggling it all, are stressed, overwhelmed, are having a hard time finding something to really be excited about in life, and maybe even dread facing the challenges in their day-to-day life. I help them to tap into the power of their subconscious mind so they can have clarity, confidence, and a plan to go from survival mode to thriving. I guide them to regain control, simplify their life, reduce stress, and achieve their goals. Our work together is a personalized plan to support them on their journey to a more balanced, fulfilling life.
I also offer stand-alone and packaged hypnosis sessions to people to clarify their goals in whatever area of life they choose and to begin powerfully working toward what they actually want. It’s perfect for individuals who are feeling burnt out and overwhelmed, have big goals but aren’t sure how to get started, are determined to make big changes and need a little nudge, or feel like they’ve got too much going on all at once and need a reset.
Something new that I am excited to offer in my community and online is my signature workshop called “Freedom from the Frazzle: 3 Life-Changing Secrets for the Woman Who Juggles It All.” I help participants to get clear on what survival mode actually is, how to practice self-care (it’s not what you think!), the 4 stories keeping you stuck in survival mode, and 3 life-changing secrets to free yourself from the frazzle. The ladies who have attended these have raved about it!
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The ones I’ll touch on that have been huge for me can help anyone else, too. This is a great question, because you’ll see how it can apply to your life in all areas – business, health, relationships, personal growth, spirituality, and more.
For anyone looking to improve their life or their business, or looking to build a business, I would say that it’s important to be a lifelong student! Find mentors, read books, take classes, and take the time to really hone your craft or chase your passions. Learning and being a great student is such an important quality. It can turn you from total newbie to a confident expert, and it could possibly lead you to be able to teach others.
If there is anything that would give you an edge or would help you to feel more confident, dive in and give yourself the opportunity to learn!
Along those same lines, I cannot stress enough how impactful being curious is! Asking questions, genuinely wanting to find out more, speaking your mind, and interacting with the people and world around you from a place of wonder is a game-changer. Remember being curious as a kid? Taking time to bend down to stare at a bug, asking, “Why?” a million times in a row, trying something new because you just wanted to see how it worked?
When you’re curious, it’s easier to clear up miscommunications, see things from different points of view, notice details that make a big difference, seize opportunities that others might miss, and to take the time to appreciate the differences and strengths in ourselves and others.
The third thing is to look for the good! When you can find a silver lining in any situation, it gives you hope and something to strive for and look forward to. How do you look for the good? Actively seek joy, look for the lessons, find kindness, appreciate the small gestures. and express gratitude often. This is key, especially during difficult times.
The good that you find doesn’t even have to be something big – it could even be something as simple as, “By tomorrow, this project will be behind me!” Imagining actually getting through a challenge is powerful, and it allows you unconscious mind to take the steps necessary to get you to the finish line.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I love collaborating!
I would love to partner with retreat hosts and leaders who are looking for unique programming. I can create workshops, provide one-on-one sessions, help with schedules and curriculum, create resources, provide fun activities like journaling and breathwork and meditations, and hold a warm, caring space for people going through big life changes.
I am fantastic at helping people to imagine their future, discover what they really want out of life, relax through meditation and hypnosis, come up with strategies to make life easier and more powerful, and holding a mirror up to them to truly see how wise and incredible they already are.
In addition to retreats, hosting workshops is something I enjoy doing. I can do this online or in-person and have many topics in mind. I also love to work with folks to create something unique and special just for their audience. Topics I’ve done are vision boarding, goal setting, learning about self-care and self-love, and sessions devoted to gratitude and preparing for new phases of life.
I would love to be a podcast guest, too! I can speak on so many different things and love to share pieces of my own story that relate to the topics being covered. Bonus points if I can be silly and laugh a lot with you.
I’m always open to ideas for collaboration. It is my goal to share my tools and talents with as many people as I can. If no one had shown me what I know now, my life would be totally different. I am actively paying it forward so others can enjoy their lives, too.
As cheesy as it sounds, I love to spread love and light wherever I go!
