We were lucky to catch up with Jennifer Perri recently and have shared our conversation below.
Jennifer , we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
Honestly, my resilience comes from living through the things I thought might break me-abuse, divorce, even being paralyzed by Guillain-Barré syndrome. In those moments, I didn’t feel strong at all. But each time, I made the choice to get back up, to believe that what I was going through could become fuel for something greater.
I lean on my faith, the love of my family, and the belief that our hardest chapters can be the very ones that shape us into who we’re meant to be. For me, resilience isn’t about never falling-it’s about deciding, over and over again, that I will rise. And now, I get to turn that strength into hope for the women I serve.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I often say my story is one of reinvention. For a long time, I lived in survival mode-navigating an abusive marriage, rebuilding after divorce, even learning to walk again after a sudden health crisis left me temporarily paralyzed. Those chapters could have broken me, but instead, they became the foundation for my work today.
Professionally, I am a transformational life and empowerment coach, certified divorce coach, financial therapist, author, and speaker. What excites me most about this work is seeing women realize that they are not stuck-that no matter how messy or painful their circumstances may feel, they have the power to rewrite their story. There’s nothing more rewarding than witnessing that spark when a woman shifts from “I don’t know if I can” to “I’ve got this.”
Through my coaching programs, writing, and speaking, I help women step into clarity, confidence, and financial independence. My goal is to give them both the mindset tools and the practical strategies to thrive-not just in their careers or bank accounts, but in their lives as a whole.
Right now, I’m especially excited about the expansion of my Rise & Thrive Society, a community for women who are ready to rise above life’s setbacks and step boldly into their next chapter. I’m also launching new programs like The Divorce Reset, which focuses on rediscovering, redefining, reconnecting, and reinventing after divorce, and The C.A.P.E. Method™, which helps women lead their lives with Clarity, Alignment, Purpose, and Empowered Execution.
If there’s one thing I want readers to know about me and my brand, it’s this: I don’t just teach empowerment, I live it. I’ve walked through fire and found purpose in the ashes. And now, my mission is to remind women everywhere that no matter where they are right now, their story isn’t over. In fact, it may just be beginning.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, the three qualities that shaped my journey the most were resilience, curiosity, and courage.
Resilience taught me that even in the darkest seasons, I could bend without breaking. Life will test you, but resilience is the muscle that helps you rise again and keep moving forward.
Curiosity gave me permission to keep learning, to ask “what if,” and to try new things when old doors closed. Instead of letting fear keep me stuck, I allowed curiosity to pull me toward growth, whether that was entering a new career, learning about finances, or reinventing myself as a coach.
And courage-well, that was the bridge between dreaming and doing. It wasn’t about being fearless; it was about taking the next right step, even when I was terrified or uncertain.
For anyone just beginning their journey, here’s my advice:
Build resilience by embracing challenges as lessons instead of roadblocks. Ask yourself, “What is this here to teach me?”
Nurture curiosity by becoming a lifelong learner. Read, listen, and surround yourself with people who expand your perspective.
Practice courage in small, daily ways. Say yes to opportunities, set boundaries, and speak your truth—even when your voice shakes.
If you can lean into these three qualities, you’ll not only navigate the hard seasons-you’ll come out stronger, clearer, and more confident in who you were always meant to be.

How would you describe your ideal client?
My ideal client isn’t defined by her title, income, or age-it’s about her heart and her readiness. She’s the woman who knows deep down that she was made for more, even if she’s been carrying doubt, pain, or fear for far too long. She may be coming out of a divorce, navigating a major life transition, or simply realizing that the way she’s been living no longer fits who she’s becoming.
The ideal client for me is the woman who is willing to be honest with herself, open to doing the inner work, and courageous enough to take that first step toward change. She doesn’t need to have it all figured out-that’s where I come in. What she needs is a spark of willingness, a flicker of hope, and the belief (even if it’s borrowed from me at first) that she can rise again stronger, wiser, and more aligned with her true self.
I always say: I don’t work with perfect women. I work with real women. The ones who are ready to rewrite their story and step into the life they were always meant to live.
