We recently connected with Jennifer Roman-matito and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Jennifer, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
Truth be told, it is the only option! Negativity perpetuates negativity! If you have massive dreams and goals the way I do, failure isn’t an option. It’s super cliche but keep the eye on the prize! Be flexible, stay focused, stay positive.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am Jennifer Roman-Matito, one of the co-founders of Mothers Milk, a coconut water cocktail RTD. Mothers Milk is a clean ingredient, true cocktail in a can 9% ABV vodka. Featuring no added sugars, all natural flavoring and preservatives, we are a vegan friendly and gluten-free option for the wellness conscious drinker! Everyone knows naturally occurring in coconut water are hydration and electrolytes!
When we looked at what the market had to offer, what we wanted to drink did not exist, so we created it!
Our journey kicked off in August of 2022, when we had our lightbulb moment of conception, we officially launched in the NY market in September of 2023. Full steam ahead!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
One of the key factors for my personal journey has been being a people person. I’m a true extrovert very social which is extremely important when building a brand. There always has to be one mouth piece!
Determination is key, if you don’t believe in your plan, no one else will either.
Alignment is also a very important part of the journey, making sure you find partners and team members who are just as passionate and in alignment with the goals moving forward.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
Let it out! Bottling it up, storing it away, pretending you don’t feel because you can’t deal helps no one. Stress manifests itself in the oddest of ways. It’s ok to take a time out, rest time, an hour to cry, go for a run or a workout. Whatever way works best for you to feel a release. DO IT! Recalibrate and reset. YOU GOT THIS!
