Meet Jenny Hermosillo

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jenny Hermosillo. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jenny below.

Hi Jenny, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
I believe my resilience has come MANY different aspects and experiences in my life.

Today, what wakes me up every SINGLE day, ready to walk through the fire, is the living word of my LORD & SAVIOR, Jesus Christ.

But, I didn’t know this my entire life…

Growing up, my childhood was far from perfect, but I believe that is exactly the type of childhood I was meant to have to do what I do today.

Growing up, my mom, above all, was the dictionary definition of resilient. At the young age of 20, coming to the U.S. from Mexico with her newlywed husband is already mind-baffling to me. At the age of 20, I couldn’t have imagined living 10 miles from my mom, let alone 100s of miles.

Growing up, I watched my mom struggle, I watched her worry, I watched her cry, I watched her stress, but nothing ever broke her. She taught me always to keep moving forward.

To me, moving forward was a no option OPTION. I got pregnant at 15 years old and I still remember when she looked me in my eyes and said, “entonces, aque hecharle ganas” (“Well, now we have to hustle.”) I took that to heart.

No excuses. No matter what I faced, I kept moving forward.

And even, when I was farthest away from my Faith, God had been with me holding my hand through it all. Things that shouldn’t have happened DID, and this that should have, didn’t.

Today, I know God gave me a mother like her to show me what resilience looked like in REAL life.

Today, God shows me that I too can help others see it’s possible to walk through the fire and come out on the other side MUCH stronger.

That’s why, as a coach, I place a HUGE emphasis on behaviors, because oftentimes, the problem is not WHAT you’re doing, but it’s what you DO when you’re faced with a challenge or something that is different.

Resilience is key to making LIFELONG changes & overcoming even the toughest of situations is the key to reach your goals in any area of life.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Hey beauties! My name is Jenny Elizabeth and I am an online health and wellness coach here to serve you on a deeper level. I don’t provide quick fixes or shame-focused protocols. My own journey taught me that there is a lot of hurt and pain behind starting something new, especially having to do with nutrition and training overall. I want other women to truly see the beauty within them without a number on the scale telling them otherwise.

I became a personal trainer in Phoenix, Arizona in 2021, and working at the gym was truly a rewarding experience. My biggest takeaway… Fitness is for EVERYONE. Seeing people from different walks of life come in through the gym door ignited a new understanding for me. A gym is a place everyone can walk into, no matter their background, ethnicity, age, or political/religious beliefs. Everyone WANTS to move better, & feel better. Naturally, I felt so grateful to serve others as their trainer.

Unfortunately, in this environment, there was a NEED that our clients were unable to grasp. Oftentimes, during that first meeting, clients would express obstacles they face at home, lifestyle factors that impacted them, and situations that would just bring them to tears on WHY they needed this change.
My desire to help clients on a deeper level ignited the start of ‘Break the Cycle’ – my current 1:1 private coaching program. ‘Break the Cycle’ was built from the idea that for our desires to be fulfilled, we must make deeper changes and focus on creating a new path, no matter what type of journey we are on.

Perfectionism and quick fixes are left at the front door, and we focus on the client as a whole to create a process that not only gets results but completely transforms their outlook on health forever. We combine nutrition, training, and mindset “activities” to take the client from POINT A, TO POINT B, to POINT C etc. and EVERYTHING in between.

100% of the time, clients want “weight loss”, but during this process, they gain so much more and that is what “Break the Cycle” is all about.

Break the Cycle is currently going through some Major Changes while we place a huge emphasis on, not just your fitness, but MIND BODY & SOUL! Coming soon!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back at when I first started my business and my journey overall, it was frightening. As a self-labeled introvert, I would freak out when it came to talking about my business. Like, “Who wants to hear from a girl selling a fitness product!” But by doing that I was being unfair to myself and the skills I possessed to help others.

My biggest advice: Figure out what boxes you’ve created for yourself and break out as soon as possible. Labeling yourself as an introvert, anxious, people pleaser etc only puts you into that box and snuggles you in there.

I highly believe every entrepreneur, no matter what they offer, has a service/product to provide that is desperately needed, and if we don’t stop making this about US, we will never be able to fully provide what we have been called to provide. CREATE PARAMETERS OUTSIDE THE BOX! & work to become those parameters and when you get good at that, keep creating new parameters for yourself.

Second, extort your biggest weaknesses! I’m serious, that thing you call weakness is almost always your hidden superpower! Most of the time, when we play by our strengths, we’re really doing ourselves a disservice by staying in the comfort zone. Find your weakness and WORK on it relentlessly!

Finally, it sounds cliche but just BE YOU. It’s so easy to get caught in comparison and while a landscape analysis is useful to understand the market, it doesn’t mean that you should follow suit. Record your thoughts in the car, write down spontaneous notes of random thoughts you have, include it into your marketing somehow and BAM! Your audience starts to learn who the REAL you IS and they will love your content for it!

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
As a Wellness coach, I’d love to collaborate with other creators/entrepreneurs who love to talk about mindset, who love food, who love holistic healing. I mean honestly, I just want to hear others stories who have overcome hardship (Which we all have) & would love to learn what ignited the fire inside of them to get outside of their comfort zone! I have a podcast called “break the cycle” & as Break the Cycle Coaching is currently undergoing changes, so is our podcast as we move through just focusing on how WE as a society can break the cycle!
