We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jeremiah Davis a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Jeremiah , thank you so much for joining us today. Let’s jump right into something we’re really interested in hearing about from you – being the only one in the room. So many of us find ourselves as the only woman in the room, the only immigrant or the only artist in the room, etc. Can you talk to us about how you have learned to be effective and successful in situations where you are the only one in the room like you?
Purposes not biased. I have leaned to master captivating people with the future. The future belongs to everyone. I want everyone to be able to achieve and conquer what they were born to do despite their narrative.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
When most people ask me what my purpose is, I often tell them, I am fighting to build a civilization for people who haven’t taken their first breath yet. When I’m dead and gone, while my body is no longer active, my brain will still be here. I have a friend of mine that often says you can live twice if you leave a legacy. I plan to make aggressive entrances into the future by dismantling and reconstructing basic theology. I want people to study my methods in universities and seminaries around the world.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Reviewing the past, the three most important qualities, skills and area of knowledge are the art of resilience, the ability to see what doesn’t exist, and generate it and the ability to inspire people to create what they want to be apart of because most of the people that I am called to are all born revolutionaries; so unless they create the environment that they want to thrive in, they will feel lonely because it doesn’t exist. The number one thing I can advise anyone whom is early in their journey to do is never hide from your difference; you’re only unpopular because you’re surrounded around people who morph into the environment that they are in.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
When I’m overwhelmed, I remind myself that there are two types of people in the earth today. Those that will testify that they changed because of the times and those that will testify that the times changed because of them. I’m the latter!
