We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jeremiah Goll a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Jeremiah, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
Honestly, it took a little time for me to build up my confidence and self-esteem. I’ve always been more of an introvert and used to get a lot of anxiety about stepping out of my comfort zone, especially being around big groups or new people. But working in this industry really pushed me to face those fears. I had to get used to public speaking, attending events, and just introducing myself in rooms where I didn’t know anyone. Over time, that discomfort turned into a kind of strength. I’m still working on it, but compared to a few years ago, I’ve definitely come a really long way.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Sure! We’re a boutique interior design firm based in Miami, and what really excites us and sets us apart is that we put a lot of emphasis on the personal touch. We call ourselves “boutique” because we’re really focused on making the design process feel very personal and very tailored to each client. For us, it’s not just about designing a space—it’s about understanding the client’s lifestyle, their likes and dislikes, and building that trust. We really want to transform houses into homes that our clients will absolutely love for years to come. And at the end of the day, we’re passionate about what we do, and we love sharing that passion with our clients. It’s all about creating those beautiful, unique spaces that feel just right for them.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, I’d say the three most impactful qualities on my journey were definitely determination, the willingness to figure things out on my own, and a strong sense of independence. When I started, I came from furniture sales and had never actually worked for a design firm before. That meant I had to really push myself to learn the ropes, understand pricing, and basically figure out all the processes from scratch. It was a challenge, but that determination to keep going really made a difference.
For anyone just starting out, my advice would definitely be to get a bit of formal education in design if you can, but even more importantly, try to spend at least a year or two working for an established design firm. That experience will help you understand how the business works, how to handle clients, and how to price your services, all of which can save you a lot of trial and error. I had to learn it the hard way, but that just made me even more determined and now I can definitely share that advice with others starting out.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
When I feel overwhelmed, my go-to strategy is to give my mind a real break. I firmly believe that creativity doesn’t flow when you’re stressed out, so if I hit a mental block, I actually shut my computer down and step away. I might watch a sci-fi movie to fully disconnect or just go for a walk in nature to clear my head. By the time I come back, I feel recharged and ready to tackle whatever was overwhelming me before.
