Meet Jeremiah Jacksun

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jeremiah Jacksun. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Jeremiah , thanks for taking the time to share your lessons with our community today. So, let’s jump right in – one of the most essential skills for unlocking our potential is self-discipline. Where does your self-discipline come from?

Thank you so much for having me. It is truly a blessing to be back connecting with the Bold Journey community again. To answer your question, it comes from knowing what to walk away from. For me, that’s rooted in faith. The Bible talks about abstaining from people, images, conversations, anything that doesn’t lead to good. So I steward my body and my mind accordingly. I don’t entertain what doesn’t edify me. Simple as that. Some look at that and call it balance. I call it obedience. And it’s not about me trying to be perfect. It’s just me honoring God with what I’ve been given, guided by the Holy Spirit. I desire for my choices to reflect that. Discipline isn’t really the goal. Devotion is. The discipline just follows. And for that, I’m grateful.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I found hip hop young. Writing rhymes at 13 taught me that words carry weight. That lesson stuck with me and eventually became the thread running through everything I do now. Today I lead “Know Your Platform.” It is a space where faith and mental health meet, but not in the way most people expect. We do not offer tips or techniques. We open scripture and let it do the talking. That approach is now the entire reason for the platform’s existence. The work started with a podcast. That podcast is now growing into something larger. We connect with people who have stories, whether they’re already anchored in God or just beginning to explore that foundation. Everything we do is rooted in Christ, and we help push those stories further from there. That might mean connecting them with other outlets or simply giving them room to be heard. We’re taking things step by step, at a pace that feels right for where we are. The show is on hold at the moment. That is purposeful. We want clarity before we move into the next season. In the meantime, conversations are still happening. People are still sharing. And music is still coming. That part of me remains. I came into this work with coaching experience and good intentions. But I learned quickly that helping someone manage their pain is not the same as helping them heal. I was handing out temporary fixes. God shifted my focus entirely. Now we direct people straight to Him. When He does the work, the change lasts. What we offer is different because the source is different. We point to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. That is it. That is the foundation. I want people to leave feeling like they have been stirred up, like they cannot stay the same. I want them hungry for more of Him and more of what He created them to be. “Know Your Platform” is really just an invitation to build your life on a foundation that holds and to walk fully into what God has already mapped out for you. That message stays consistent. New music is on the way. The podcast returns this year. Everything else unfolds as He leads.

What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey?

The last two years shifted everything. I went from a lukewarm walk with Christ to a dedicated one. That journey changed the podcast to what it has become now, focused on scripture instead of self help. It also shaped the music I will eventually put out. More than any of that, it changed me. I am a man who has been reset in Christ. What I learned is simple. Everything I need is in that book. The Bible holds every answer. That knowledge became my foundation. My advice for someone early in their journey is this. Seek Christ-centered counsel and wisdom. Go to your Word. Let God guide you. Seek Him in all things. He will answer. When He does, be ready to move. Trust that where He is taking you is for your protection, your growth, and your development. He is molding you into what He called you to be.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?

The Bible. That is the book. Everything you could ever need to know about what is required of us to live on this earth is in those pages. It is the originator. Every truth about how to move, how to love, how to grow, how to endure, it all started there. A few nuggets that have carried me? Proverbs 3:5-6, trusting in the Lord with all my heart and leaning not on my own understanding. That alone has saved me from making decisions based on what I could see in the moment. Psalm 46:10, being still and knowing that He is God. That taught me to stop striving long enough to let Him lead. And 2 Corinthians 12:9, the reminder that His grace is sufficient, that His power is made perfect in my weakness. That changed how I view every circumstance I face. The Bible is not just a book. It is the source. Everything I need is in there.
