Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jeremy Malecha. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jeremy, we are so happy that our community is going to have a chance to learn more about you, your story and hopefully even take in some of the lessons you’ve learned along the way. Let’s start with self-care – what do you do for self-care and has it had any impact on your effectiveness?
Daily workouts including at least 2 dog walks a day. Ensuring that I get off electronics before 7pm and focusing in on sleep quality.
This allows me to be present and most effective in the mornings and afternoons to ensure that we meet the needs of our customers and employees at Biocanic
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Today, Jeremy is a catalyst for building a new integrative medicine marketplace rooted in the power of health intelligence and consumer advocacy so society can take back control of their health and wellness in a post pandemic world.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
1) Relentless curiosity for the health industry. This goes back to my childhood where I was always fascinated by exercise and health. I was always reading or learning about new trends in the industry which lead me to studying biomedical engineering
2) Acceptance that all facts have a half life. What we believe today will likely be proven wrong the future. Always be looking to learn, and never become complacent thinking you know everything
3) Never overlook the wins. As an entrepreneur its easy to focus on whats not going well, so its important to celebrate and acknowledge the accomplishments.
What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?
As the business has grown, I was still trying to do it all myself. In the past 12 months I have focused on thinking about what the team needs to grow to achieve our goals. I recently read the book “10x is easier than 2x” by Dr Ben Hardy and it really put things into perspective. What is the 80% I need to shed, so I can focus on the 20% that will really scale up the business.
