We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jermari Young. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jermari below.
Jermari, appreciate you making time for us and sharing your wisdom with the community. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others overcame obstacles can be helpful. One of those struggles is keeping creativity alive despite all the stresses, challenges and problems we might be dealing with. How do you keep your creativity alive?
To keep my creativity flowing, I reconnect with my inner child. I revisit places and engage in activities that reminded me of who I was as a kid. It’s easy to forget the boundless imagination we had when we were younger, but I believe that’s where the true spark of creativity lies. When I hit a creative block, I step away from the responsibilities of adulthood and embrace that youthful energy to reset my mindset and find inspiration again.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Hi, my name is Jermari Young and the proud owner of the clothing brand called Dare2Dream. The most exciting part about having a brand is that I’m able to express my creativity freely without anyone being over my shoulder or hindering my creative limit. Dare2Dream is not just about clothing, we want to sell others a comfort , a place where people who feel lost, undervalued, misunderstood, you know people who just want to be seen and appreciated can be or wear to make them feel like they are home. We want clients who wear our garments to wear them with pride. Soon, I plan to do a soft rebrand of the business, just to re target our auidience and for me to finally express my feelings and ideas confidently.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three most impactful things that I learned from my journey so far are to understand that failure is the only way to a victory, celebrate the small things, and to keep God or whatever spiritual being first in all aspects. I still have issues with applying these to my business journey but I know that the only way those three areas of knowledge will work if I continue to be consistent. Well I don’t like to give advice because I’m still learning and fumbling but what I will say is if they are passionate about what they are doing, then to write down everything from what works to what doesn’t work and use them as reference whenever you feel stuck or lost or maybe just wanna reflect.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Yes, I am looking for mentors , investors , and just like minded folks. I’m seeking someone who has been or is currently in the fashion industry to guide and shape my journey. I’m looking for investors that after speaking with me and hearing my ideas would love to help fund my dreams because they can themselves in me.
