Meet JERMEL WILSON

We recently connected with JERMEL WILSON and have shared our conversation below.

JERMEL, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
I think I get my reilience in all honesty from my moms. I’ve watched this woman take coal and turn it into diamonds. Not literally but meaning she never lets anyhting or anyone get her down and is always there for anyone that needs her. She don’t quit. She always saw the potential in me that didn’t and wouldn’t let me give up now it’s habitual .

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
My name is Jermel Wilson and I’m an entertainer that specializes in acting, stunt, stand up comedy , rapping, screen & song writing and producing. In short I love entertaining and the fact that it’s now may career I love it even more. I’ve been a actor for 25 years I’ve always dabbled in my other skills but I wanted to master one before I try professionally my other skills because the old saying goes you could try to be a master of many but end up being the master of none. I figured once I master my craft of acting everything would fall into place and could expand on my other skills before I pursue them professionally.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The three qualities I say I have are patience, drive and passion. The patience plays a huge part in pursuing a career in entertainment , because before someone says yes your gonna hear a lot of no’s but you can’t quit. Drive because your gonna need that to keep going forward. I’m type spoiled and stubborn meaning if I say I’m going to do something I wont stop til it’s done and you shouldn’t either. The passion is because I love what I do I believe if you enjoy what your your doing you can’t quit because it’s apart of the fabric of who you are.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
The people that have been the most helpful is my family and few friends and collogues. my teachers who saw that I had the potential to pursue my craft and my representation team it feels great when you have a team behind you that believes in you that is a game changer .
