Meet Jeronimo Mura

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jeronimo Mura. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jeronimo below.

Hi Jeronimo, great to have you with us today and excited to have you share your wisdom with our readers. Over the years, after speaking with countless do-ers, makers, builders, entrepreneurs, artists and more we’ve noticed that the ability to take risks is central to almost all stories of triumph and so we’re really interested in hearing about your journey with risk and how you developed your risk-taking ability.

I think it’s in my nature. I believe that’s how all of us who grew up in Argentina are raised, where life itself is always a risk. In my case, I need that. It’s like a driving force that pushes me forward. Coming to this country in 2022 was the clearest example. The rush of not knowing anyone, not knowing how I was going to support myself, leaving my family and friends behind, not having a job… Being in those circumstances and going through difficult moments makes you appreciate what you have much more once you achieve your goals. But risks also drive me to excel in my work, not just in my life. Covering difficult events, like when I reported on the war in Ukraine in March 2022, did just that. The pressure of major coverages this year, such as Donald Trump’s inauguration or the air tragedy in the Potomac River in Washington, D.C., did as well.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

Jerónimo Mura is a journalist based in the District of Columbia (USA). Currently, he works at Univision. As a correspondent, he covered President Donald Trump’s 2025 Inauguration, 2024 Presidential Election at Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign headquarters, Ukraine’s War in Kyiv, 2022 Midterm Elections in Florida and Hurricane Ian. He also has experience as anchor, producer, radio host, videographer and video editor.

The most exciting thing about this job is that you never get bored—every day is different, and so are the stories. At Univision, I’m lucky to do what I’ve always wanted alongside an amazing team. I know this is a special moment in this country’s history for the Hispanic community, and I love being the person who helps my community—not just by keeping them informed, but also by giving a voice to those who need it.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Perseverance, passion, and preparation. It’s important to love what you do so you can keep pushing forward without giving up. But you also have to prepare yourself, study, and stand out—because there are many journalists out there. The key differentiator is knowledge.

My advice is to follow your dreams. In this profession, you’ll often feel frustrated and hit a wall, but you have to understand that what you want won’t happen overnight—you have to work for it. Take it from someone who came from a very distant country and was able to fulfill his dream of becoming a TV reporter, and even doing it at the most important spanish tv network in the U.S.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?

My father inspires me. He is a well-known journalist in Argentina, my home country. I grew up watching his TV shows and listening to his radio programs. My beginnings were as his producer—he taught me everything I know.

My mother supports me, follows me everywhere, and allows me to dream and fly.
